Thanks all for accompanying me in this journey. It is well loved. Can tell from the scratches it has internally. Leather is a little dry and some scratches on the outside. But I’m more concern of the smell. There’s a strong mouldy or mildew smell which I can’t differentiate. How do I get rid of it? I am now airing it and putting some baking soda , silica gel in the bag. Hope it helps

It is so annoying that was not disclosed prior to sale ( actually it's just WRONG). That being said, air it in sunlight, etc., but a strong smell is an issue. Try the baking soda in a sock ( or just sprinkle alot) in the bag, then put the bag in a zip lock ( or large airtight bag) and leave it- replace the baking soda daily ( this is just my guess). May take a few days. If that doesn't work, go to coffee, which I have not used, but have heard works as well. Good luck with this lovely bag.

My pre-owned Courchevel Bolide had a strong mouldy smell aswell: I put a small plastic container with baking soda inside in the bag and I alternated this to putting the bag in front of an open window all day long. It took several months but eventually the strong smell went away, although not 100%. Good luck!

Read the part of this article about the newspaper. I stuffed only the inside of a bag with newspaper and it worked. If you are concerned about the black print, you could buy plain newsprint paper.

It’s essential when deodorizing to understand the cause of the odor. The problem isn’t the smell of the mold/mildew, the problem is the mold/mildew. The mold (cause) is making your bag smell (symptom). Does that make sense? Actually getting rid of the mold is the essential thing. I don’t know how to do that but focusing on cleaning with something anti-fungal, and then allowing your bag lots of time in non-humid fresh air, and sunlight may help. Do not put your bag inside a sealed plastic bag—that will only cause more mold to grow.

I hear you. Using it is a good idea, and making sure it is always out in the light with air circulation. I don’t know what H spa would do, but it might be worth checking with your SA.
