Ode to the bolide

Had a beautiful Clemence bolide 37 and for me it was too heavy and bulky to wear cross body though I had a custom canvas strap made for it. I eventually released it for a 27 in epsom due to weight and wanting a less slouchy bag. While toile is fairly strong, I would avoid a light color for travel use imo.

Bought the etain bolide 27 in swift early this month from a store. Just got the pink 5p bolide 1923-25 from H site. It is a bit too cute. Should I keep it???

Does anyone have this Bolide in size 35? I am considering it for travelling instead of Birkin 35 which is just too heavy for me. Would this one be lighter and easier to use since it has a strap as well? How would it hold the shape? Could you please share your experience with the bag? Thanks

Late answer. I have that exact Bolide in toile and barenia and it is light to carry. Bolide 35 does not hold as much as you might think however.

I agree with @golconda, a 35 Bolide is lighter weight than a 35 Birkin but it holds a lot less. I have 3 Bolides 35 and 1 31, the 31 is a bit too small for me while the 35 is perfect.

I second that. My 1923 Bolide 30 gets mostly weekend use while my 35s are daily workhorse bags.

I was looking for a pre-loved Bolide in Gold and wanted a 31, but could not find one at the price point I could afford, so I settled for a 35. I was worried that it would be too big, as I like larger small to mid-size bags. I was so pleasantly surprised when it arrived! It did not feel/look huge at all, even thought it is very roomy and holds a lot.

Congrats and welcome to the club! I LOVE the 35 size and think the proportions of the handles are better than on the smaller sizes (which is also why I like the 1923 30 better than the 31).

What color/leather did you get?
