Hello there! I need some advice from you babes who are familiar with swift leather. I just purchased a birkin 25 in swift rouge tomate. When my sa showed it to me the Colour was just so gorgeous I couldn’t say no, though I had some considerations over swift being vulnerable to scratches. I’m new to the leather and would like to know if it’s easy to maintain? I don’t really baby my bags but neither do I just chuck it on the floor or sorts. And having to run after 2 kids and having them fiddle with my bags when we are out doesnt help either. I’m just paranoid if it will be full of scratches after several uses.

I’m really wondering if I should keep it or sell it to a dear friend cause I have a Kelly in epsom rougue Casaque which is also red. So maybe I should sell it and hope another colour will come my way? But b25? It’s just such a hard to come by and cute size! In a dilemma now

if you are satisfied with the RC kelly as your only red bag then sell the RT b25 but if you are wanting the b25 size in your collection and happy its another red then keep. i owned swift b25 and have a young baby it didnt get scratches easily at all only reason i sold mine was i prefer Kelly & constance but would definitely take on another swift K or C without hesitation.

What size is your bag? Mine is a B25 and I don’t leave an insert inside, stuff it with a small pillow and lay it in my closet back panel down inside the dustbag. Love the feeling of swift but it’s definitely a thin and soft leather. So easy to close the bag and it looks great but guess everything comes with a price.

The new novillo leather has been described as a mix between togo and swift so it’s interesting but very happy to have a swift bag, frankly my most used one, despite possible slouch in future.

Can you post a pic of your bag? Would also be interesting to know how long you have had it, thank you.

Love the feeling of swift and I’m a bit chocked about your friends nasty remarks, the bag i so beautiful [emoji172] canopee? I usually find Hèrmes (Birkin) lovers to be admiring, supportive and at times I get a smile from people sharing my taste in bags, it’s like we are sharing a secret or a mutural understanding.

The colour is vibrant and perfect in sunlight. Embrase the character of this bag, your future togo will probably be more structured but some recent togo has imo a dryness that I hope will vanish when the leather ages. It’s nice to have bags in different leathers and colours and the red togo will be pretty too but when you carry a bag more you kind of develop history, memories and it becomes a signature bag. I feel you might have that with your green beauty [emoji3]

Love green and love swift, your bag is fabulous.

Leather should give a little with age, that's its beauty, even Box eases over time, I don't think that Swift slouches anymore than other leathers, depends on the bag model.

I have a little of everything. There's a place for more deeply grained leather but they do come across as more casual. Box is formal. Swift has a fine grain and a satin sheen, perfect for most occasions, elegant and refined but not too formal.

Yes. The Hermes community here is amazing and supportive. The people here, like you guys, always put a smile on my face whenever I visit TPF tbh I don’t know why my friends said things like that.. I think because they didn’t understand much about H and recently falling in love with Birkin. I would never make any rude remarks on people’s stuff like them tho. Funny is that when she could get her first B she came to me for advices of leather, color, and size and got exactly my recommendation
Swift is def lovely and so light. Though it tends to slouch but for me slouchiness mean that it is used often. You are very spot on darling ❤️ I def use this bag a lot when I was more carefree. Now I’m more mature so I lean toward red.
The bag we choose often reflect our lifestyle and personality so well.

Love green and love swift, your bag is fabulous.

I think maybe my friends are not as knowledgeable about the leather and bags like you girls here on TPF what a misfortune for them.
Each leather has its own beauty so we have spce for them all in our closet *more shopping*!

Thank you sweetie! I think they were not knowledgable and thoughtful. Though it did upset me for a while funny thing is she went ahead and got her first B the exact size, leather, and color that I recommend her to get

Swift is my accidental love. I wasn't really drawn to it in the beginning but I have 4 bags now in swift, plus a handful of accessories (bracelets, watch straps, etc). I have a toolbox 26, plume 32 and 2 bolide 27s. It is very pretty and elegant. True that is it prone to creasing but with a little TLC, it could be preventable. My plume 32 is just perfect in swift, very understated. It is not very delicate at all, and little scratches can be easily rubbed off. I also get water spots on my bracelets (when washing hands, etc) and they just disappear when it dries.

I have 2 Swift bags, a Plume and a Web Bolide. No idea about the Hazlan (better ask on the thread solely about that bag) but I've had no problems with rain (although I try to keep them under my umbrella, kinda impossible with travel bags). Swift, like Clemence, sounds like a good choice for the Hazlan.
