I always find part of the fun of owning a H item is the history behind each piece and the research I do before buying it. This knowledge-based shopping really appeals to my analytical brain ;)
Melora, thanks for sharing the information! Very educational and totally drumming up my anticipation for it in the coming season! :D

i am surprised it didn't work on you..but never mind, you have lots of amazing silks!

The cw is too cool for my colouring sadly.

We're twins on this CW, dear ms piggy! Here is mine

This cw is perfect on you with the lovely dress, cardigan, and accessories.

ms piggy, sophieg, thank you for showing your scarves too!

btw, ms piggy, I left you a message on the ode to twilly thread…

Thanks! The twilly thread poster is lvpiggy, not mspiggy. :D

Melora - sorry this is off topic but your mailbox is full. I'm trying to send you a message but I can't because you need to clear space.

Ok, :back2topic:

First of all, the title of the scarf!
The dot on the I is a fermata, and you can notice lines going from one letter to another… This is quite similar to ligatures found in fancy texts: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ligature_(typographie)#mediaviewer/File:Ligatures.svg

Thank you for inviting us to your wonderful thread, dear Melora24! I play the piano. I am curious about musical instruments especially organs. Thank you for providing an opportunity to know more about organs and Point d'orgue!

I never noticed this on my scarf! Thank you for this informative thread! I play the piano, but the organ is a mystery to me, other than the keyboard! I actually put my Point d'Orgue scarf up on the wall for display today. It's not one of my favorite designs as wall art, but it's one of the few scarves that I own which actually teaches me something when I examine it up close. Similar to Les Robes where I learn the colors of horses in French :D

Melora24, thank you for sharing the wonderful information about this beautiful scarf. :D I have recently started to catalog my meagre collection of scarves by capturing photo, year, CW and details on each design. I never thought much beyond the designs and CWs themselves until I accidentally clicked on the design details on the old h.com. It's fascinating to learn more about each scarf.

I mentioned earlier that there was one pipe connected to each note. I think I forgot to say that the shorter the pipe, the higher the sound?

Anyway. The beauty of an organ is that it can replace a full orchestra by itself. And that can only work if it's able to produce different sounds. The way to do that is to change the shape of the pipe. For instance, you can have square wooden pipes, or metallic round pipes.

Pierre Marie chose to show you exactly these kinds of pipes.

(no credit for the pictures this time, because I took them myself)

I know! Most of my scarves, although they were gifts, have at least one little detail in them that makes them special and like they were made for me. La Vie du fleuve, for instance, was given to me because it's my favorite color (purple cw), but it's special to me because of the woman carrying her baby in a scarf, something I did with my babies too, even if it was not the same kind of scarf.

There are so many details on this scarf! You can tell Pierre Marie really did his homework on this one, and it's a shame that nobody knows it! I'm glad this forum offers a chance to share everything I noticed.

Thanks! The twilly thread poster is lvpiggy, not mspiggy. :D
Oops ;)

Powder Puff, Fabfashion, ouija board, cherryblossom, thank you all :) I'm glad you're enjoying this.
