Do we find ourselves 'By Royal Appointment'? :worthy::queen:

Only trouble is I'm having a hard time placing the cw either as a GM or a 90. Anyone want to jump in here? One-off, special edition, sample of something in the pipeline :graucho:?

Scarf addict asked about this last week. It looks a bit like a pareo to me. h did not issue this as a mousseline. Maybe they made it special for the royal lady?

sa is a royalty aficionado, so if she doesn't know I don't know who would.

It will be very unfortunate if this 'pareo' is a one-off because if it is a pareo I want one :D

Definitely 140 cm size not 90 cm

Thinner fabric , summer twill , cs voile , cotton are all maybes

Strange motif in corner , the original had only circular brooch like pieces in the corners

Still looking for better pictures ....

But the printing is badly done not at all Hermes quality

OK, I am officially obsessed by Princess' Anne's shawl. Went on a crusade to find better photos . She got a lot of press the next day at Ascot for wearing the 35 year old outfit and this shawl got scant attention.

There are 3 good shots, one shows the corner, the other shows her from the back , the last from the front

The jewel in the corner lacks detail, shading, and the corner shot shows the thin material - cotton voile perhaps ?

The photo from the front shows the drape of the fabric is bad, it does not have soft folds even Hermes cotton drapes better, and a silk blend does wonderful. OK, not everybody drapes a scarf as well as Mai Tai - see her blog for photos of the real B&W 90cm Femme aux Semelles

The tiger stripes from the back side - oh dear, very badly done , coarse looking

It is certainly not a bespoke Hermes scarf, and pareos are rarely done in THE MAJOR designs , pareos are not square and the carre designs dont work, so, you see other lesser designs in pareos

I know we all hate fakes and this is obviously one .

She is an interesting woman and I love her crosspatch face , her fabulously fit form and excellent low key/ wear it for years style . I don't love the drape or provenance of the scarf but still think she looks amazing !

Marietouchet, I trust your judgement so am very disappointed that this is a fake :( Would have loved lfasdv issued in Pareo and in a neutral like this.

Very nice :smile1:

I love the look of Princess Anne's shawl - great colors

That said, I very much doubt the scarf is a a total fake ie I doubt it says Hermes Paris or La Femme Aux Semelles on it.

The recent crop of copies often omit the title and logo, and more or less copy the motifs. We cannot tell from the photos the degree to which the design is copied here , it just looks like a dead ringer, at first glance

And copies are often down in different sizes, eg the 90s are done in 140cm size,, as in this case. So, most of the copies would not fool an expert, they sell for maybe $40 on Ebay.

I doubt most buyers think they are getting the real deal due to super low price & lack of logo / title , but then ... lots of people ask for authentications of $50 Birkins ... so who knows ???

I just had to know about this scarf, the look is awesome. Anne wears a lot of brown, which is perhaps an old fashioned color, but this look rocks

A visit to H in Bond Street with DH resulted in lots of photos , I thought you may like this one of a vide-poche in our favourite pattern!

IMO the pattern doesn't translate terribly well onto the porcelain .

Thank you for posting this! There has been one in my local store as well, and yes, I tend to agree it does not translate well in porcelain. I love this design, it's still my all time favourite and I think I might even frame it!

Can anyone explain the different LFASDV's CSGM's on ebay at the moment? They're all priced very high, but then, for this beauty, I'm not surprised. I own one with the pink border and love it!
I asked one seller, who says theirs has a black border. It has the bright interior design. Another one is described as brown, but I'm told "Brun Fonce" is actually rather aubergine. It has the dark olive interior. Another is described as having a burgundy border. I suspect it's also "Brun Fonce" with the olive interior.
Someone I know to be very knowledgeable in Hermes told me there was no CSGM issued with a black border. I'm confused! Does the Brun Fonce just look black?

I was airing out my cashmere shawls and admiring them this morning, I always linger over La Femme aux Semelles de Vent
I have the black / gold and jewel coloured one and also the Noisette.
The black border is true black and the shawl is gorgeous, it works best for me as an evening piece in Winter . Very special
The Noisette is an easy going anywhere with anything piece .

Hope this helps, and thanks for making me get them out to play!
It would be fab to see some LFASDV again, fashions have changed since it was issued so new posts would be fun!
It's still my favourite design , I'm sure you wouldn't regret buying one if you can get it for bearable price.

I just took a look at the E*** listings, JB has the black one I've shown .
The prices are unreal IMO , that dark brown has been on for almost a year , no wonder .
