After reading the posts on the mules, I dropped mine off at the cobbler last week and should be getting them back in a few days. I hope he will be able to do as good of a job as others have posted. I also have not worn mine much, mostly on carpeted surfaces (lol), but I'm really hoping to get more use out of them without feeling self-conscious about the noise!

I am def going to bring mine to cobbler as well !! I do hope they bring down the decibels !

Let us know the results! :flowers: As I noted above, mine with new rubber soles are still noisy, but it doesn't bother me. I guess they're still loud because they used fairly dense rubber for the new soles, otherwise they'd likely wear away too quickly. Will be curious to hear if yours end up being quieter.

Update - I picked up my clogs today and love them! As you pointed out, they are not completely quiet by any means, but much more tolerable than before. I think they actually sound like normal heeled shoes, which is fine. Excited to wear them more often, especially now that fall is here! @Chrismin - hope you have a good result with your clogs too!

Yay, so glad to hear! Thanks so much for coming back with an update! :flowers:

I am just leaving a review here for those who are curious about Oran vs Santorini sizing.

My Santorinis just arrived, and because my country do not stock size 41 (which is what i wear in Oran), I have checked with two store reps and my personal shopper they are consistent in sizing (i.e. 41 Oran = 41 Santornini) and in my experience Santorini comes up much bigger.

The design on Santorini is wider, and longer because of the rounded toe, I probably could have at least gone down half a size, but because i cannot return due to purchasing through a personal shopper. I am now stuck with the shoes and trying to find a way (maybe an insole to make it work)

So in hope to help someone who wanted to buy these sandals, if you cannot try them on, consider sizing down. And if you have narrow feet, i would suggest to stay away from them. I have wider feet and I find them roomy, if your feet find Orans very loose, you will find these even looser.

In hindsight i should have ordered the smaller size locally, try that on before jumping to buy the same size via personal shopper (live and learn).

Attached are some photos to show you the difference between the two (please excuse my dirty mirror and non pedi feet)

I've been looking into the Oz mules and the Paris Loafers and checked at my local boutique too but I didn't get a clear idea. Hoping someone here can help me. Is ghw being phased out on these specific shoes - because I only see the rghw and permabrass. I'm not looking for phw.
Does anyone who has both do a side by side comparison of what permabrass looks compared to ghw?
Thx much

A question for any ladies out there who have any Hermes loafers and Gucci Jordaan loafers... do you have a sense of how they compare in terms of comfort and durability?

I absolutely love my Jordaans but Gucci doesn't seem to be making them in different colors anymore. I have black and red, but I'd love to add some more neutral-toned loafers, and Hermes seem to have a wider color palette. I have plenty of Hermes sneakers but haven't branched out into their loafers yet, and was thinking Paris or Ancora (I know the latter might be harder to find now).

Thanks in advance!

The Colette loafer is very comparable to the Jordaans in terms of comfort and durability, IMO. I like that Hermes loafers are offered with hardware in a variety of metals as opposed to just the brushed gold horse bit on Gucci's. I have an older suede pair of Hermes loafers that I don't know the name of which are very comfortable. Have had them for 5+ years and they are just starting to show their age.

Thank you! And, yes, I was afraid I'd likely slip on our carpeted stairs on my very first outing! :oh: I also thought the soles would quickly wear. But, I was determined to keep them as they're otherwise beautifully made! When I brought them to my cobbler, he made suggestions and showed me the materials he'd use. It's just the kind of work cobblers routinely do, so I felt very comfortable having him do this. But, others here seem to feel fine wearing theirs as received, so maybe unnecessary. I just thought the work would lengthen their lifespan. And, the new, thicker rubber soles can be easily replaced later as needed, before I wear into the wooden bottom. I hope you can keep yours (altered or unaltered), good luck! :flowers:
I’m going to do this with mine. Thanks for showing your clogs completed!!

I am the same size as you 40.5/41 in Oran’s and fell in love with a pair of size 40 Pink/Bubinga coloured ones on Vestiaire. You’re post has convinced me to purchase. So thanks!!
