So I finally wore my anthracite poncho on a walk with my DH today, and he LOVED it! Phew!! I'm finding that my preferred way of wearing it is with one side tossed over my shoulder, which makes the lines more "clean" on my frame. Wore it with just a cashmere sweater underneath, and I was very cosy in spite of the -2 Celsius temps here today. I am so happy I bought this poncho, and thanks so much to everyone who inspired me here!:hugs:

Thank you, dear! I went from "never again" to "indispensable" in the blink of an eye, thanks to you!

Thank you so much, Arabesques! Your fabulous photos had me dialing my SA in a frenzy.

I love how you have styled this with the 90s and your land boots are perfection with the Paille.

Thank you! If one is good, two is better! I'll add the gray next week.

Dear froufrou, thank you for your always gracious compliments! I am thrilled to be your twin on the Rouge, you will love the color and I know it will love you back! Please share with us when you receive it!

Thank you, dear! I am so excited for you that you are geting both the Rouge poncho AND the Rouge jumping boots, and I can't wait to see your photos!

Thank you sweetie! Your pic is what made me do it!! Lol!! I will post pictures once I get them!

Oooohhhhhh my GOD, you look AMAZING Sammy Royal!!!!!! Twins with you on this cw, and you've inspired me to wear it like this today!!

I've been layering a light jacket underneath as well, Sammy Royal, and it works like a charm, doesn't it?!! I like having the option of removing a layer if I get too warm. You look fabulous, again!!!

Sammy Royal, I can't thank you enough for sharing this shoulder bag trick! I tried wearing my Evelyne with the poncho, and it turned into a right royal mess!

Dear HfromT! Thank you soo much for all your wonderful compliments!  And very glad to have helped you! :D - This is also my preferred way of wearing the poncho. You can see at least a little bit of what is underneath... ;)

Merci, dear! This is a soft leather tie belt and I only tie it around the front, so it is underneath the poncho in the back and cinched in the front.

SammyRoyal, you are my poncho style icon!!!
I love everything about this look, you are the epitome of class! I am so excited to be joining you and HfromT with the gray poncho! We are already twins on the double sens and the Graphique 100, how brilliant they look with the poncho. Your beautiful smile makes it all the better, thanks for sharing!
Dear Monceau, I am blushing! Thank you so much... :blushing: Especially as you are always such an inspiration to me... - Am soo pleased to be your twin for the gray poncho - as well as for the DS and the Graphique!! Well, this is really amazing!!

Thank you for the idea of the soft leather belt! Hope it will work as well for me as it did for you!!

I've had the burberry cape in my shopping cart for 2 weeks now but can not fathom why its not even covering enough of palermo's front side who is a shortie already
This hermes one will probably be all the length that I need and more

Amacasa, that is exactly why I returned my Burberry poncho. It was far too short on me and it hit me at the waist in the back...NOT a good length on me, and I'm only 5'4".

Thank you dear! You need one!;-)

FYI - For those that are interested or on the fence about the Burberry vs. the H poncho, there is a SCARF version of the Burberry Colour Block Poncho and it is much cheaper. It offers the same colors and pretty much gives the same look as the poncho but for only $295. It can't be monogrammed (but any seamstress worth his/her salt could probably add initials to it as well)!

Considering getting one myself at this price point. Now, back to topic!! :)

Thanks for the tip!! :flowers: I just ordered one. The poncho's not for me, but this I really like!!

:back2topic:

I am wondering if Alamo is new or old seasonal design or a basic design? I know I see a lot of Rocabar but never Alamo on website. Could any of you kindly tell me? And also the difference between the 2 styles? Alamo looks a bit bigger and thicker in material than Rocabar. Is that only my eyes?
