calexandre: Oh, the Blackrock's is really not a big deal at all. Really... don't be scared of it. You will be amazed how gorgeous your Chevre will look. If you have a Chevre accessory, try it on that first. I had bought a pre-owned Chevre accessory and used some Blackrock's on it and it went from looking so-so to looking
brand new.

Don't use the Obernauf's on it though. That is a waterproof-er and you don't need it on Chevre.

Thanks! I'll give it a test-run on my chevre Karo first. :smile1:

RC, my Chevre that I got recently is from 2002 but it is in just about perfect condition. I used Doc's Blackrock's treatment on her and shined up the hardware using a Rouge cloth and she just totally glows!!

When I got this Birkin I had no idea that I was going to love this leather so much. It is my favorite leather of all time. It does have some structure but is soft and mushy, also. I just can't get over how much I love it. I still love Box but right now this Chevre makes me totally swoon.

This picture shows that the leather is rather slouchy yet the bag still has plenty of structure. It's really the perfect balance between slouchy and stiff. I really wouldn't say this one was stiff at all. I'll let the picture speak for itself!!

Beautiful birkin Kallie Girl!! Thanks for the info. :smile1:

Katel, the indigo has a relax yet classy feel!! Thank you for taking her out of her hiding place. Which year stamp is this?

thank you all very much for your kind comments  chevre is truly a dream leather and, while not much is being produced currently (in bigger bags, at least) in coromandel or mysore, at least H has filled this (hopefully temporary gap) with chevre mangalore...my two Kellys in chevre mangalore have the same properties as coromandel and mysore, except the hand is softer on the mangalore, it has a more suede-like feel - you could say it feels "thinner" but that's not entirely it....it feels substantial, yet softer at the same time. I think chevre mangalore will "smoosh" more than CDC in a 35 Birkin as time goes by....it will be fun to see.

I have not seen a 35 Birkin in chevre mangalore yet...seen pics of a 36 HAC on ebay....I wonder if someone has one and will post a pic? My 35 Kelly is not slouching at all (yet)...

ms piggy, to answer your question, the indigo chevre Kelly is stamped d in a square -2000. I know years/production dates for chevre was discussed elsewhere, so here is my current list:

Chevre de Coromandel:
35 Birkin vert fonce - a in square (1997)
35 Birkin rouge h - d in square (2000)
35 Birkin raisin - f in square (2002)
32 Kelly indigo - d in square (2000)

Chevre Mysore:
31 Bolide blue brighton - j in square (2006)

Chevre Mangalore:
32 Kelly blue paon - L in square (2008)
35 Kelly quetsche - L in square (2008)

We were discussing a few posts back in this thread the difference between Chevre and Box. Here are a couple pictures so you can see that Chevre is a bit more slouchy than Box. Both of these bags are F stamp (2002) but I am not the original owner.

What a wonderful collection of goaties!! Thank you Katel:heart: for sharing the list. Seems like H did most of the CDC in the late 90s and early 2000s. I just wish they do more to bring it back together with Mysore. I'm more of a structured girl, so my wishlist includes Mysore and CDC (and of course Box and Toile).

My collection of chevre.

Black PHW 28cm sellier Kelly
Indigo PHW 35cm sellier Kelly
Very well used violet bearn wallet, rose shocking calvi, vert anis PM karo and cyclamen passport holder.

I believe the small leathers are all Mysore but not quite sure of the Kellys!
The 35cm is pre owned and quite supple, the 28cm has only been used a couple of times and is still quite rigid.
