Hi chevre owners, I am just wondering does chevre bags hold its shape well? Is it a stiff/soft leather and is it scratch resistence? TIA for all your help. :ty:

I find chevre quite durable and scratch resistant. It also holds its shape well (similar to box) and is very, very light weight...this (and box) are my favorite leathers for structured bags. Love it for birkins and kellys!

Just curious all...I've officially decided this is my favorite skin for a birkin 35. I know these are very hard to come by in the last couple of years. Do any of you have 35s that are datecoded in the last couple years? what are the date codes of your 35s?
I see some on ebay and in resell shops from time to time but most are from years past.

Uh oh - never realized Chevre is rare :crybaby:I'm in search for my grail, and I came to conclusion it has to be CDC with GHW:heart::heart:.. Undecided about color yet.. Like many ladies here, it's all about the grain, the shape, the sheen, the spine..

A question to Rockerchic and to you all Chevre fans, do you think obtaining Chevre Birkin 35 from resellers is the only way to go? Is there any hope left to get them from H boutiques?

Thank you all so much in advance..

I have not heard of any chevre 35s coming out of the boutiques in recent years...I wonder when the last time they were there. Hopefully someone will help us with the answer. I have resorted to getting them from resellers so far.

RC, my Chevre that I got recently is from 2002 but it is in just about perfect condition. I used Doc's Blackrock's treatment on her and shined up the hardware using a Rouge cloth and she just totally glows!!

When I got this Birkin I had no idea that I was going to love this leather so much. It is my favorite leather of all time. It does have some structure but is soft and mushy, also. I just can't get over how much I love it. I still love Box but right now this Chevre makes me totally swoon.

This picture shows that the leather is rather slouchy yet the bag still has plenty of structure. It's really the perfect balance between slouchy and stiff. I really wouldn't say this one was stiff at all. I'll let the picture speak for itself!!

^^Thanks KG. I'll check the date stamps on mine as well and post. Mine also were bought preowned but are in beautiful condition.
PS, I love the early american scarf with your havanne. That is gorgeous!
