Just updating with a new pic of my BBB, purchased at my store 13 years ago. I have never treated it with any products or sent it to spa as yet. The leather is slightly dry but otherwise there aren't many scratches and not much patina. So Black rodeo from first release.
Gorgeous!!! May I ask if you take it out in light rain?

Yes. Anything heavier and it goes into my foldable Envirosax. Also use that in crowds, when I need to go handsfree or to carry my fresh baguette in Paris.
Strange, I was caught in a light rain in Paris and my bag got some blisters, immediately went to FSH /I was close by/ and I was told the leather is permanently damaged. They brushed it a bit but the blisters are still visible, not to the point that I can’t wear it, but it’s there. The rain was light and it was virtually for 5 minutes.
How do you clean some small stains from face powder/foundation, or hand cream? Just soft cloth?

Oh dear poor ari! How long has it been and are the marks still there? Blisters normally disappear and return to pristine if it's let dry normally without being near to direct heat. It's very odd because many of us use our Box (and smooth Barenia) bags in rain and snow without any issues. I wouldn't dare give advice on removing make-up or hand cream as I haven't as yet gotten any on my bags. I know it's a real miracle!

In my experience if you dry Box straight away it doesn't blister. Once it's blistered the marks won't go away. Smooth Barenia is a totally different story, it can get wet and will dry naturally without blistering. My Barenia bags have been through just about everything and are totally fine. I don't have experience with make up or hand cream either.

Have had no blisters with any Box or Barenia. Maybe didn't get it wet enough!

I’ve never had blisters with box or barenia. I’ve worn them in light rain and snow, and felt safe doing so bc
people have worn box leather shoes and barenia saddles for ages. I simply wipe off any moisture or droplets
immediately. i do have box leather weatherproofed by @docride , but that is simply a precaution against a deluge.

I have had some barenia that I’ve left natural and unprotected and some that I have weatherproofed.
The latter is literally my rainy day bag. Although none of my bags have ever been rejected by H spa, TPF members
officially advise no treatment by any third party professional if you want to be certain your bag will be accepted.
I don’t mind taking the gamble bc I use both Hermes spa and third party professional spa.

im so sorry @ari.

Thank you Ladies!
The blisters are not that visible, but they are there. I did wipe it immediately BTW .

Hi everyone, I am so excited to join the box family and hope my BBB will last me a lifetime. I'd love any tips on maintaining box leather on a new bag. I've read Docride's guide and have also searched this thread, but there seems to be some conflicting viewpoints (and likely not one right answer I am sure!). Would buying Saphir Universelle Leather Balm and buffing on occasion after I've worn in the bag be a good start? Thanks in advance!!
