Does anyone know how box leather handles being rubbed against jeans? Should I just avoid it all together? Asking for a newly acquired Constance 24
In my experience Box doesn't mind rubbing against jeans but it DOES mind if those jeans have rivets...rivets and anything sharp are a big :nono: with all smooth leathers and most grained leathers.

Hi! Newbie here and starting my Hermes journey :) I love the look of box and the fact that it develops a patina over time and wanted to get a vintage box Kelly as my first Hermes. But I live in the PNW and am worried about all the rain on box. Curious if anyone else lives in a rainy climate and how you protect the box calf? Or would it be better for me to get a different leather like Chevre? Thank you in advance!

Hermès Box is my favorite leather. But it will not serve you well in a rainy climate. It must stay dry at all times. Sorry to disappoint.

Box bolide, Rouge vif and 31cm (seller pics). I think the leather may be a bit dry? Would love any thoughts on that!
Do you own this Bolide or are you considering purchasing it? You'll need more clear close-up photos to ascertain dryness. The production year will be helpful, but Box can stay gorgeous for generations or it can dry out much sooner if not stored and conditioned properly.

vintage well patina ed box is more resilient than you would be led to believe
especially if you keep it well-conditioned
obviously avoid drenching and wipe off rain spots immediately
