Congratulations for the acquisition. This picture renewed my interest in vintage bolide again (psst… don’t tell my husband. He still thinks after my vibrato Plume, I would be finished. )

Hello, newbie here. Though I do love grained leather, my greatest love was box calf because of the vintage look and feel that is so classical. I was asking my SA for a BBK, she said it would be a really rare bag, might take years….and then she shocked me with a black box birkin30 WPH which was something I thought I would never obtain. I know it’s not for the faint of heart(esp considering its price point and how it easily scratches) but, as my SA said, the box calf is a bag to be used and to grow with. Congratulations! Isn’t it amazing? Something similar happened to me! I asked for B 30 GHW, but I didn’t dare ask for box sellier, and my SA said I have it but in Box , I was stunned! For some reason I didn’t know it was so much more expensive, maybe the price increase was higher for more expensive items. It’s beautiful, but I wonder why it doesn’t have a stamp on the strap or anywhere else. And the gold of the feet is lighter in color. I’m paranoid as for example in Vienna boutique the staff was sacked and replaced with new ..
anyway I’m enjoying it now..

I live in Paris, but was actually first told this at a store I shop at in the US.

My Paris SA told me it is Bleu Saphir or possibly Bleu Marine. Vert Foncé is apparently also possible but none of my SAs have seen it in actuality.

Here's Vert Fonce Box Kelly Sellier. (Image from reseller) Have also come across Vert Fonce Box for a mini Constance from reseller but I can't find the pic!

I love all things box. Box black B30, box K32 black, and box k33 green — green Kelly is a camelion goes from green to black-don’t mind having two similar as hardware is different. I simply love the structure and stiffness of the leather, I also don’t mind the scratches (only the first one hurts ).

Just seeing all these recent finds and acquisitions just reinforces what a fabulous leather box is: the patina imbues everything with a special richness - the reds and blues glow and black has an unsurpassed lustre.
It seems to suit Birkins more than other leathers.
Perhaps that is true of many styles.
Other than a special awareness of fingernails I don't find it to be the delicate flower than many would like us to believe. I used my briefcase throughout the winter without any problems.
