I love this thread :loveeyes: Thank you for sharing everyone and please keep posting pictures:heart:
@Mrs.Hermess I too would love a box constance :heart:. I tried on a vintage one (from 1976) at Fashionphile this past summer in the colour Ebene. I'm always checking the website hoping they will lower the price:lol:. I would really love a new one, but not sure if that will ever happen. It's good to dream though:smile:

I’m new to Hermes and decided to start with box SLGs because it’s such a classic leather. Looking forward to the patina process given that these will be used daily :graucho:

Does anyone with the box Calvi or Bastia find they need to condition the corners regularly? I want to be hands off and let them get a worn-in look, but I’m wary of damaging the sharp edges.
So nice, that would look like nice in Bleu Marine with my 2011 Tsako bag(which replaces the 1989 one I had)- due Wednesday 28th, also in box..

So pretty! Please share a pic when she arrives. I’d love to find a box Tsako or Trim, but I don’t know enough to shop vintage yet.
Of Course I will❤️❤️❤️❤️I loved my previous bag, but she was too preloved and smelled musty, this one is much newer and coming from a Japanese seller with a very high rating…I’ll post a picture next week-Merry Christmas❤️

what a lovely start to a collection!
I understand that you want to keep them in good condition;
just use them and condition when you feel like it;
you will soon discover that they are more robust than you might be led to believe;
because they fit inside the hand the edges will be nurtured

I was in Paris last week and was delighted to be offered a 30 Birkin Sellier in Bleu Saphir Box with PHW. I had a wish list and a dark blue B30 Sellier PHW topped my list. No B or K were available in any leather at FSH the week I was there although I did enjoy visiting every day.

The SA at Hermès Sèvres said they are also seeing Box in Rouge H, Noir, and a dark green (I forgot the name of the green. Perhaps someone here knows.) Interestingly, I tried on a B Sellier 30 in Noir Box that was purchased last month at H Madison and that Box leather was much thinner than the Box I received in Paris. Since I enjoy the more plush traditional Box leather produced prior to the 1990s, I was thrilled that the Sapphire Blue box leather in Paris was of the thicker material. On the one hand, due to the flap style on the Birkin Sellier, a thicker Box leather makes it nearly impossible to tuck the flap into the back wall of the bag. With a leather like Epson this is much easier to do because it is thinner and more pliable.

I spoke to the leather manager at FSH in Paris and she told me that Box is harder for them to source than exotics. I believe that is true; nevertheless, Box remains my favorite H leather and I am fortunate to have multiple Box bags to choose from at home.

Birkin in Bleu Saphir box is dreamy -enjoy her in good health and a prosperous New Year!xx

By comparison, I have a blue sapphire Bolide from Hermès in Novillo leather. The same color is much different on that leather than it is on the Box leather photo of the 30 Birkin Sellier I posted above.
I’d like a Bleu Saphir croc or alligator H one day-on my wishlist, or Bleu Marine, or Indigo(my 3 favourite H blues)- my new Tsako Bleu Marine (2011, replacing my old 1989 one in box) is arriving on Wednesday .

Around Christmas 2019 I was offered two C18s in Black Box and RH Box, by my SM. Together with Saphir, these three colours were available more recently in the agenda covers, when the writing sets were launched. The dark green mentioned above is interesting, I wonder if Vert Fonce is back.
Anyway here is one of my fave Vintage Box bags. 1977 C23 in Rouge Hermes Box, in action at Christmas lunch.

Congrats @stillfabulous on your gorgeous blue B. When I was at Duret in Paris, he showed us fifty year old box leather hides in his storeroom. I can easily imagine that quality box leather is harder to find today.

@880 I have a Trim I in Black Box that is nearly 50 years old. Five years ago I sent her to H spa in Paris. She came back looking nearly new. Just jaw-dropping! Although other leathers have their pros and cons as well, Box is everything my heart desires.

That said, after taking her on one trip across the pond, the touch-up done at the H Spa quickly faded and the loss of color and cracks from dryness along the piping became once again quite apparent. Next time I send her to Spa, I will reserve her subsequent use for short outings and not expect her to do any more long-haul flights.
