Ladies is it true that Hermes doesn't offer barenia in bags for the past two years?? Apparently that's s what my SA told me. Can anyone confirm this ?

Yes I was told that too
Both barenia and box cannot be po or so
Only subject to Paris for push order delivery

Not the case. I bought this a week ago and have requested a black Barenia 30. I was told there's a "good shot" I will see the B30. I am up against a lot of VVVIPs in the US so we will see. If a huge client comes in the door and happens to see "your" bag (not SOs) sometimes it will disappear.

Wow. Major congrats on the score. Finger crossed for your black barenia. I'm after B40. I feel like I'm chasing a unicorn. I decided against getting the preloved ones that popes up. Now I'm starting to regret it. Hey never settle right?? At your H does 40 B barenia come in often?

I purchased a Barenia Birkin 25cm last month. I was offered this very same bag back in 2009 or 2010. However I passed on it and regretted it ever since. So I was extremely shocked and surprised to get the offer again last month, since I know how rare these seem to be. I feel very fortunate

This is amazing and serendipity striking twice; what luck! Enjoy!

Sadly Barenia IS quite rare - it's just not completely nonexistent :p My store, which is a flagship, told me they hadn't seen a Barenia B in years (they did offer up a "Barenia" fauve croc to me, haha, I WISH). Men's bags are coming in, like the City Hall and Shark Bolide (I saw both when I bought this bag), so I don't think a 40B is impossible.

That said - to be honest - I wish I could have found a preloved Barenia Birkin rather than buying the new one. I am one who prefers the patina created by someone else :p however I haven't seen a B35 or B30 in Barenia at resale recently that wasn't stained or damaged past my comfort zone (or nearly as pricey as a new one). If one shows up before I take my new B out I just might switch out. Same with the black Barenia B - if I see one with PHW at resale I won't wait for the boutique. However - if new from the store is your dream - you should hold out - there is definitely more Barenia than there was :hugs:

I can totally see the allure of black barenia. I got my new barenia B30 last month and am having a hard time coming to grips with handle darkening. I'm wondering what others have done? I am not a super fan of the twilly. I have used one on my Gris T kelly handle to protect from handling but something feels wrong about covering barenia. I tried some on in store with my SA and the look seemed off to me.

In my eyes, the beauty of barenia is meant to be appreciated in its naked, natural state. But I really don't want dark brown handles. Any one care to share their thoughts? I might have to cave and pick some twillys and find some way to tie them so the tails don't hang down. Ugh...the problems of H haha!! A black barenia would solve this whole issue [emoji4]

^ To twilly or not to twilly, that is so subjective. And for the handles to darken from the natural barenia will take either or a combo of the following:
- constant use with very well lotion-ed hands
- years of regular use
If you're undecided about using twillies, you could start carrying your bag without and just check if starting to darken and at that point use twillies if you think you need them.
Some ladies have many bags to switch around and so I only post this because, by "regular use" I mean daily and for more than a season - patina happens over years. And I think it takes more use than some imagine for handles to darken so noticeably. It's also a matter of definition, patina does not equate with dirtying to me, but I'm guessing it may to some others.
Finally, the handles of dark colors of barenia patina too, and this may mean they gain a very slight sheen - again, it's nothing to fear.
Perhaps it's human nature if something's rare and dear to protect it from harm; some barenia-fans may need to go counterintuitive on that notion to truly embrace and enjoy this evolving leather.
Hmm, hope this is read with the sharing of joy spirit it was written in; I certainly mean to patronize no one, whether new or veteran in the barenia world!!!

What a great response Laila!!! I only carry my fauve barenia 1-2x/week max and it's reassuring to hear that handle darkening is not imminent [emoji4]

Thanks for your insight. I will definitely keep looking. I saw a black 35B on the bay. Did you check it out?? Same dilemma here. I don't need to have a brand new barenia however I don't want to pay reseller overcharged price for it. Do let me know if you come across one :) About the matte croc barenia. Sounds so dreamy. It's my ultimate HG. Have a good day xx

Thank you! I've only seen the black Barenia with GHW on the bay....looking for PHW. Maybe I could wrap my head around the GHW :p

Matte fauve"Barenia" croc IS dreamy. Even the SAs ooh and ahh over it! If I ever do croc that or matte black would be my dream :cloud9:

Barenia is an intrepid-eur's bag.

My barenia and I waddled out into an ice storm today. City is shut down but I needed a capuccino and eggs!

Since I am otherwise shut in and don't want to spend the entire day shopping online, will attempt to rewrap my twillies. My lovely sa did the first round and they are now unraveling and look a bit sad.

What a beauty [emoji173]️

This is a gorgeous bag!! Glad you got the nourishment you need. As for wrapping twillies - I've never come close to the job those SAs can do.
