Thanks Shans44, and others... I totally agree that persona confidence is more important

shans44, not to step on your Q to BBC, but I know she wouldn't mind. It's about presence and attitude ... not AN attitude, but your persona portraying confidence that you belong there. It's not about your clothes. I'm lucky to live in Manhattan, so I have choices, Wall Street and Bergdorf being my first two. My favorite people at Madison aren't always on the floor because they're supervisors. But this is not the thread to have this conversation.

My friend picked up a Silky Pop for me in the Marwari design and a pair of gloves,
they have a little Kelly lock, I think called Soya in gold. What a great sale!

Hi again everyone,

I couldn't post yesterday as I had a busy day at work but wanted to thank you all for your kind comments on my super long report. I was worried I might bore everyone to death with the minutiae.

LGA82, I didn't realise the Silky Pops were just $45, can it be??

Seeing some of the other reveals from the sale makes me think I got out of there way too soon! I adore everything that NanamiRyu found (http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/the-sales-and-h-forum-broke-me-572550.html), all those little animal leather goods, the coin purses, the bookmarks, but above all the lime Clemence... Swoon!

As for enforcing line rules, ladies, when I go next time, I'm going to get everyone's cooperation by specifically asking every single person ahead of me to watch for cutters and informing them that they can't hold a spot for anyone else. People are far too meek about this!

Restricter is right that the pregnant girl was thoroughly humiliated, and I think it's punishment enough, but all of those others who didn't get caught are going to do it again and again. We all need to put our foot down.

Okay, rant over. ;-)

Congrats everyone on fabulous finds!!!

Hermesmonkey, you scored, love your constance bag. May I ask how much you paid for it?

I'm definately coming to the next sale with or without my DH's blessing, lol!

Lady-Penelope - No - the Silky Pops were $322 - still a fantastic buy. The $45 was for the little pom pom bookmark thingies...:p

So, waiting in line to pay at the sale, this one lady was still trying to decide between different scarves and going back and forth on which ones she liked best. She started the line with maybe five scarves and kept an ongoing dialogue with the people next to her, trying to get independent advice on what looked best on her, and as she waited she eliminated the scarves one by one. Finally she was down to two, and she asked me what I thought. I like to tease people so I said "Well, ask yourself, 'Do I really need this?" At that point everyone piped up, "Noooo, that's the one question you don't wanna ask yourself waiting in line at the Hermes sale!" We all had such a chuckle!

Lily, I'm not so wonderful - I got you the Silky POP (just like hermesmonkey's above), but there was a little mix-up with the Silky POM. I picked the one we talked about from the table and took it to one of the sales people to ask the price. He didn't know, and took it to the checkout area to find out, which took him about ten minutes. When I went back, I asked him how much, and he told me $45.00. I said OK, and assumed he put it in the bag I already had set aside with your bag and my little things. Turns out, he didn't, as I discovered on my way home in a cab. So sorry - I should have checked!! Mea culpa!:shame:

I guess everyone will have to take back their accolades - but it would have been worse if I'd messed up on the bag, right?? I meant well, really I did!:shucks::nuts:

So not a problem, LGA. I didn't need the silly little thing anyway. I'm just thrilled to have the Silky Pop at such a great price.

YOU DID GOOD - REAL GOOD!

has anyone been there today? I would love to go but have my toddler in tow so if there are lines I don't think I"ll make it...

Today at about 10.30 there was no line at all outside, just 5min wait inside for the elevator to go up.
Plenty of things to choose from, but no cashmere except blankets.
However, when I left about noon, there was a line building up outside maybe 100 people?
