My DH is the best! :D He's in NY this week for work and I soooo wanted to join him but couldn't...otherwise the timing would have been perfect for the H sale! He just surprised me by calling me from the H sale! He went there for me!

I went to the sale this afternoon around 3pm. I only waited about 10 minutes to get in. We were chatting with the security guards while we waited and they told us that the lines were longer in the morning and that mid-afternoon was a good time in terms of a short wait. I can't say that what I found inside was as good as the wait time but that is because I am mainly a bag person and, as the previous poster stated, most of the prime bags were gone. I also had a hard time find belts as the sizes were either teeny tiny or way too big. I did end up with two scarves and had a great time just wandering around and taking it all in.

Oh, boy, irish - great news. I think we have pamella and maybe tillie and shelby set to join in the fun too, and of course, LGA will be right there holding a place in line for us.

Hey, lily - remember me? I'm the late sleeper who never gets anywhere before 1:00 pm!:shame:
But I look forward to seeing you all when I finally get there!:graucho:

That's ok, LGA, I'm convinced nothing good happens before 1:00 pm. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I'm sad that I missed the clic clacs. I'm even sadder that I caught a really bad cold from standing outside for all that time.

Btw, there was someone who was looking for Caleche fleurs de Mediterranee. They have a few bottles at the h boutique in neiman marcus in dc. I made a little trip over there this afternoon.

Oh good, Cavalier Girl - I'm so glad there's another one of me! But I'm really annoyed that I somehow missed
those silky poms!:pout:

I don't know how many were left today because I wouldn't have been able to make it in and out during my free time, but I do remember that there were a LOT left yesterday. They were also in a tray that was getting almost zero traffic, so there may well be plenty left for you.

Thanks, Four Tails, I appreciate the info! (Maybe I'll cancel an appointment and go back tomorrow...:graucho:)

Hi passportgirl,

Welcome to the forum, and ITA w/ your post! .. hope to see see you post more often and did you make out like a bandit .. had to check out early(wait was almost 2hrs to pay) .. maybe see you on sunday!?! .. pm me if you are gg^

Perhaps, we should all be pleased that we had the opportunity to shop the sale. We all know that power shopping can be exhausting and that sometimes in the anticipation and frenzy of the sale, the lines and the crowds make us all a tad cranky. I am sure no one meant to insult anyone personally. There were many international, cultural, societal, and religious groups represented at the sale, thus proving that there is no Typical Hermes Customer.
I am fairly new and don't want to offend the other members, but I would like to continue to view TPF as a wonderfully informative and friendly community.

Hey, BBC, I am just curious. How to dress like a typical Hermes customer? I had been always treated not very nice when I shop at Riverside Hermes. So, I moved my scarves hunting to NM, where they offer better services. I want to learn some tricks from you if possible. Thanks.

 Great! I have been lucky to attend the sales, VIP day, for several years now and it is really fun, but I really go to see my H-friends, because I've pretty much bought whatever I wanted at the boutique (no patience, and I don't have the intestinal fortitude to hope to find something at a sale!). The sales are great fun and interesting, but I'm not much of an impulse buyer.

I may dress more like an, ahem, "typical" Hermes customer, but you will spot me (and my red hair) hanging out with the comfortably dressed, who are some of the nicest and coolest people I know!

without knowing the exact date, i am trying to plan "around" it, YKWIM. but at some point, i gotta behave professionally and put my work ahead of H shopping! :p
