ristricter-I LOVEEEEEE your violet plume so much! What size and leather is it? Is it chevre or epsom?? Oh...!!!...SOOOO pretty...!! May I ask how much your plume and silky pop-open bag (don't know official name..) are? AHHHH you plume is dreamy~!

Awww, thank you. The violet plume is a 28 and it's chevre. It was $2940, originally (gasp) $7350. Silky pops were 70% off of retail ($1075) and were $325. They had quite a bunch of them.

Did I read that right... that the keychains are $117?
Do you recall what other keychains they had there? (I'm hoping the bf can snag me a tiger, but would like to know what I should tell him to get if they don't have that!)

Thanks and congrats on your haul!!

Good eyes! Yes, they are $117. They had a few tigers left, bears, red bulls, black bulls, elephants, assorted fruits and a snowflake or two.

I hope your BF gets you something great.

Omg... Guys, I've been waiting and waiting for over two hours on the line to get in... And they already closed the line about an hour ago because they are only open till six today.

If you are 7 weeks prego, you will be ok. If you are 7 months prego, I would probably wait until later in the day to go...otherwise you will certainly be standing in line for quite some time.

My first sale I will never forget - July 2003 - I was eight months pregnant! I had to wait in line outside, but it wasn't terribly hot. Also, back then you didn't have to wait very long to pay. Then again, I attended yesterday with my four year old, and proceeded to shop while I carried him the whole time! He was thrilled, and I didn't have to worry about him.

I went to the sale bright and early this morning with Hermes NuttyNut! We got there around seven, and there were already about 15 people in line. We were among the first in at nine. Most of you know I'm a scarf girl. Bags, enamels, and SLGs were mobbed, so except for a peek at the enamels I didn't brave that part of the sale at all. I had enough to keep me entertained elsewhere. Here's what I got:

Fantaisies Indiennes pochette, Chasse en Inde 70cm cotton charm scarf, lotus twilly, and elephant key chain. I was in a purple and fuchsia mood!

I wanted more, but I tried to stay within my budget. There were a ton of cotton Lalbhai GMs in various colors and I was sorely tempted to buy one, but I wasn't really sure if I'd get much use out of it. Also a couple of Legende Moghole GM mousses in cassis. I put back a full-size black/hot pink Fantaisies Indiennes, which was hard, but I like the design better on a smaller scale. Overall the selection of twills wasn't that impressive (most were at the last sale), but there were a lot of nice cottons and mousselines and vintage silks, and even more cashmeres than the zero I was expecting, although those are probably long gone by now.

So I'm exhausted, but it was worth the trip! And it's always great to go shopping with HNN.

Excuse me while I find a building to fling myself off of. If you guys could see the crappy excuse for a sale they have down here. Seriously. You couldn't pay me to haul some of it away. And then there's this. So not only do you get to live in an amazing city, you get the goddess of all sales dumped in your laps.

I hate you all and am going to stuff my head in a dryer.

I am happy to see that I was not the only person totally annoyed by the HOARDING that was going on.

I was in line at 10 am got in at 11 am and there was a troop of women who were circling the event like hawks and then they would convene in the center of the sale by shoes and trade around. One of them had a huge list of scarves and items that she was looking for for clients - she was a reseller (hello if anyone from H corporate is reading this) = and the rest of the troop members kept looking to her for approval for the items that they were thinking of buying. It was a bunch of middle aged looking housewives in khaki pants and "comfortable shoes" and not the usual Hermes looking customer.

Whatever, its not the end of the world, but I know how long it took me to get the invite to the 10am part of the sale that I thought was exclusive and to see this sort of activity at a sale - especially a reseller there (there were more than one - the woman who owns the consignment store down the block was there too and she is another HOARDER) its just annoying.

I got what I wanted though - sans a shawl. At somepoint I will just go to the store and buy the one that i really want to stop aggravating myself with this sale.
