Nordstrom Return Policy Thread!!

I wasn't sure where to post this but I ordered an on sale Burberry scarf on 12/30/15. It arrived 1/2/16. It was completely different than online so I thought I was sent the wrong one.

I went to Nordstrom within 3 hrs or receiving it. I went to the service counter who walked me over to accessories. The lady told me I was sent a fake! My receipt/return label had all the matching info to the fake scarf!( I also said I could show them the proof from my tracking # from usps that I had literally received it a few hours earlier)

She was shocked saying they've had issues with people buying and switching but never directly shipped a fake! She manually called another store to make sure they had the correct scarf(confirming it was physically there and the correct one) to have it shipped to me.( She said if it couldn't be located, I would be refunded.)

She ended up doing a return(as my receipt showed a scarf that doesn't exist in their system) and "buying" a gift card to have the correct scarf sent to me.

Overall, I was appreciated all they did but the whole reason why I buy from stores like Nordstrom is to avoid issues of authenticity like this.

Hopefully when I receive the actual scarf,I love it but I'm still apprehensive.

I've heard that there has started to be lots of fraud with people switching the stickers on Nordstrom returns. I have one SA that I use exclusively to avoid any issues as I know she will remember selling me the item, but there is likely going to be a little tightening of the return policy in future I fear. One of the main reasons I've loyally shopped Nordstrom for 10+ years is the customer service and return policy without time limit. Hope bad customers don't ruin it for the rest of us with fraud. Crazy that someone would re-tag a fake and return it—they should be prosecuted :(

Everyone knows that you can pretty much return anything at anytime at nordstrom! Their "motto" is, we don't have a return policy!. A close friend of mine is a manager at the store in Phipps plaza in Atlanta.

Nordstrom has always been my holy grail store but I've had two negative experiences there in the past two weeks that leave me quite sad. I still plan to shop there but I hope this isn't a new trend.

12/26: I went into their sunglass department to return a pair of sunnies and purchase a different style. When I told the sales girl I would be buying a pair she let out a little cheer, then when I mentioned I also had a return, she made an annoyed "humph" and rolled her eyes. I guess my return would hurt her totals for the day?

1/2: I had a blouse that I purchased in October and only wore a few times when it developed a huge tear on a seam. I wanted to return it since it didn't even last one season. I went to the appropriate department and when I told the lady I paid with paypal she handed the shirt back and said "I don't know how to do that, you need to go to CS" and just walked away. I headed over to CS and waited to be helped. She took the shirt from me and told me they couldn't help me b/c she didn't know how to look it up. She then told me to go back to the department where I was b/c that's "their merchandise and they know how to find the code". So off I go…back to the department where I find a new salesgirl who helped me out. It was beyond frustrating though.

I find it's hit or miss with friendliness. I get this time of year is busy, but if I treated any of my clients with the attitude I've gotten...id be fired. Had a return yesterday that I KNEW came from Nordstrom, but was ordered online. Told the girl this and she was like, "well where's the receipt then with it? How do I know?" I gave all of the info shed need to look it up and my oh my her attitude changed. It was completely unnecessary.

It only hits us if it was our own personal sale and if it's within a year

I haven't returned shoes to nordstrom in over a year, but the last time I did, the SA did not even look in the box. I mean I could have put anything inside there. Just scanned the sticker, end of story. I guess some stores don't really care.

I bought a north face jacket a little over three months ago but I finally decide not to keep it. I know rack's return policy is 90days. Will they accept return and give store credit if it's new with tag and receipt, but a little over 90 days? Thank you.

I have a question regarding an item I purchased recently at Nordstrom that I would like to return. I purchased the item to wear under a dress for a special occasion and took the tags off to see how the dress would properly look over the garment. It didn't work out for me as there were some issues with how it looked and I would like to return the item. Even though the tags are not on the item I still have them as well as my sales receipt. Would I still be able to take the item back or run into any problems returning this ? I have never returned anything from Nordstrom before so I am sure how their policy really works as stated on their site they don't really have one.
