Hi Everyone- I bought a Proenza bag for over $2K over a year ago. I still have the receipt and its original tag, but I never used it...I just never did. I kept considering returning it, but never got around to doing it and the time just flew by. I am now eyeing a different bag at Nordstrom and want to "exchange" for it. Will they take it despite how long I held on to it and should I do it?

I tend to buy things at Nordstrom (only only)/Nordstrom Rack and get buyers remorse. I just recently opened up a Nordstrom card, but always pay my bill in full.

Usually out of $1000 of purchases, I'd return maybe $20-200 worth of items (usually within a week or two of the initial purchase, always unused).

Would this ban me from the store? =\

I seriously doubt it. You are not abusing the return policy so don't worry about it

Does anyone know if Nordstrom Rack will take back a pair of shoes worn one time? I have tags and receipt and it is within the return period. They hurt my feet! I know the full line store would take them back, but not sure about the Rack. Any experience?

Policy for the rack is different from that of Nordstrom. I had a similar situation where I wore a pair of flats and they hurt the back of my heel. I know because of this id never wear them again. I went into the store and the SA refused the return due to them being worn once. I asked for a manager and the manager said that it was against their policy but that she would make an exception and give me store credit.

I'm guessing they send the shoes in for "refurbishment" and put them on sale again.

Thank you very much for the information! I'm in the same boat- wore them for a couple hours & they hurt to the point that I won't wear them again. I suppose I can resell, but hate a big loss.

Why would they would want to lose money on a pair of shoes that are worn? I notice that the Nordstrom now stamps the receipt "shoes must be returned in unworn condition" or something like that. I think it is a buyer's responsibility to determine if they will be comfortable or not without wearing out and about. What happened to the days of wearing them for a bit around the house on carpet to determine if they would work for you.

I do know they main store will stretch them for n/c perhaps that would help?

Just to let you all know, if you pay cash at Nordstrom, make sure you have the sticker AND the receipt (you could have it emailed to you). I say this because once I bought 2 pairs of heels and they were too tight for my feet (I never wore them out, only wore them at home to feel them out), so I went to return them and they couldnt find the sale on the computer (the stickers were not working for some reason). They still gave me my refund but they told me to always have the receipt in the future.

I just had an awful experience at NR with a rude SA.

I was returning a pair of Burberry belted flats and TopShop shorts. The SA scanned the flats no big deal and then when she went to scan the shorts, it didn't go through.

She accused me of sticking on an incorrect UPC code on the TopShop shorts. I ONLY paid $19.90 for these shorts. I wasn't breaking bank with this purchase, but I wanted to return it because I never used it. I told her that I have not used them and that was the sticker that was on it when I purchased it.

I looked at my e-receipt and showed her that these were the flag, denim TopShop shorts (it was exactly as described on the receipt itself). On her screen, it showed the exact same pair of shorts.

She then went on to say that the sticker is incorrect. As a LOYAL Nordstrom customer, what am I to do at this moment? I have no idea what to say/do because this is not under my control. I have no idea what is going on with the system, nor am I responsible for what is wrong with the UPC codes/computer.

I repeated my answer saying that I purchased the shorts the same time I purchased the flats and I haven't used either since, nor do I have any idea what to do about the sticker.

Honestly - this is not a problem that a customer should attempt to solve.

Once again, she was very rude and continued to accuse me of sticking on a different sticker onto the shorts. I told her again that these were the shorts that I purchased the same time I purchased my flats.

She then went on to say that the size of the shorts were actually size 8, and the computer says it's a size 4. She then accused me of buying multiple pairs of the same shorts and returning the wrong one. I ONLY purchased ONE pair of shorts.

From this moment, I felt the SA was trying very hard to put me in the wrong.

What actually happened was that SA DID NOT read the sizing properly. If you take time to look at the tag, it says 4 US and size 8 in UK size. Instead of apologizing, she cut me off when I attempted to explain that. She did not apologize.

She ripped off the top sticker and said the sticker beneath worked. She then repeated again that those were incorrect stickers. How am I supposed to know what happened? I didn't do anything. I'm returning discounted shorts to get $20 back. I don't get why I was criminalized.

Instead of attempting to find a solution, the rude SA constantly accused me of committing some sort of FRAUD for $20 SHORTS. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY AN EMBARRASSING, FRUSTRATING MOMENT. She was the RUDEST, MOST AWFUL employee I have ever encountered at ANY Nordstrom establishment (or any establishment for that matter). I ALWAYS go to a Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack Store because it has always been more reliable, reputable, and has excelled in customer service compared to other department stores. I am DISGUSTED that I had to experience this.

I love NR still. It's just a shame that one employee can ruin a shopping experience and my day for that matter. :(

Oh girl!!! That sounds just awful!! [emoji79] I would be so embarrassed ! That is so wrong what she did to you! Um employees make mistakes with tagging items! I have experienced that at a number of different stores. I really hope that you are going to contact corporate about this! Do you know the name of the girl that helped you? Don't let her get away with this. I applaud you for keeping your cool while in the store. However, once my return was processed I probably would have let her have it [emoji14]
