Are you trying in person at Nordstroms or via Live chat?

Because LiveChat is chancey with price matching -- I have gotten price matched with things not in my size and not in stock at the color I wanted and with items sold out totally I have only gotten priced matched in store - I just screen print the item I want price matched or take a pic of it with my phone and bring it in the store and the SA price matches it for me as long as it was being sold for that recently they price match.

Live chat wont unless it's still available.

Because i made my purchase in store, i was told by the Nordstrom 800 number that i needed to go in store to have an item price matched even though i told them my item would be sold out by the time the store would open. Once i got there, they refused to price match. They told me i should have bought the item when it was in stock, then brought in the receipt to price match. I was so mad.

However, the next day i took my screenshot and receipt to a different location and they matched it no problem. I am a happy camper and still ,ove Nordstrom.

Ok so I'm not sure if this is the right thread but I think so---

I haven't done a price adjustment at Nords before but I just bought a sweater 3 weeks ago and now it's 50% off. I did online chat but since I bought it in person they said I needed to go in store. I went to a store while I was on vacation and the girl sent me to customer service. Since there was a long line I left and figured I'd go to a store when I got home. I wore the sweater once but still have the tag and receipt. Can I still do it? We are talking a few hundred $ adjustment so I kinda want to try but I also don't want to be a pain. Any advice?

Go into the store before the 30 day mark is up. I was once told in the shoes dept that the price adjustment policy was 14 days, but when I asked customer service several mos later (for a diff item) that it was 30 days. Not sure if the shoes person was just wrong in the first place or if the price adjustment policy was indeed 14 days, but then it expanded to 30 days. :shrugs: Well, whatever the case may be, at least try. You don't even have to bring in the sweater, you can just show the receipt. The CS person told me that as long as it hasn't gone to the Nord Rack price (ending in $.97), it's do-able. Good luck! :D

I was just on Nordstrom live chat trying to get them to price match Shopbop's 20% off for my wedding earrings, which I just ordered from Nordstrom last night. The person on livechat said they only pricematch at the time of purchase, so I would need to re-order the earrings to get the discounted price. Is that usually how they do it?? I said no thank you, since that means I would still have to return the first pair once they arrive, which seems like too much trouble both for me and for Nordstrom. Such a strange policy...

this is their policy. It's not strange. If their was a promo at Nordstrom after you ordered, they would adjust the price. But for pricematching, it has to be done at the time of purchase.

If the order you placed hasn't been fulfilled, you could have cancelled and re-ordered.

It seemed strange to me because with their free shipping and free returns policy, it means they are paying extra and having to deal with the extra work, since I would definitely be returning the first pair I paid more for. :shrugs:
I didn't realize that was their policy though; I think I was confusing them with Endless, which requires that you place an order first, then submit a request for a price match.

Just a few weeks ago I bought a YSL large muse bag which my SA had to order from another Nordstrom store at the newly increased YSL list price. But when I told my SA that Neiman Marcus had the same bag still listed at the old price she looked it up for herself on the NM website and honored it. Saved $140. Not a ton, but it's something! At least they did the right thing. I love Nordies!

They did not price match last week Macy's friends and family 25 off coupon. They said they don't match coupons like this, because they have they own promotions, like triple points days.

i got nordstroms to price match macys friends and family for a pair of raybans instore. the girl at the counter wasn't sure so she called someone and got a call back 30 seconds later and they did it. :yahoo:
