They're hardly a "reputable" brand. Steve Madden went to prison for securities fraud. I think they're getting sued by major brands for flat out knockoffs, too.

They're more fast fashion, even 20 years ago they were more BP/ low price trendy shoes. Not quality at all.

Not judging anyones purchases at ALL. They do have cute styles, they just might not last as long as a pair of quality shoes.

It's funny I have Steve Maddens from 20 years ago and they are made really well - genuine leather, wood heels, quality hardware and leather soles. But the quality of Steve Maddens made within the last ten years is very disappointing. Mostly synthetic materials, heels are plastic and the soles are rubber. I wouldn't pay over $100 for a pair now 😥

I entered the Nordstrom scratch and daily via email according to their rules because the closest Nordstroms to me is an hour and a half a way. Anyway, I guess I shouldn't have bothered as I just received this message from them:

"Thank you for your interest and your submission to the Nordstrom Daily Special Scratch & Win Sweepstakes. Unfortunately, all our supplies for the email entry submissions have run out. You still have a chance to receive a scratch-off ticket at your closest participating Nordstrom location through July 14, 2024."

Wow, just wow Nordstroms!

I went in store today to return a pair of pants I recently got (not anniversary sale related), and decided to look around some more and try on some pants I was interested in.

I tried the Nordstrom Straight Leg Pants in grey as I bought the jacket which I love and figured maybe the matching pants would be good to get too, however they fit so wonky... But I found Nordstrom pants in last years anniversary sale also fit me wonky. I am between a size 6-8 depending on brand, closer to 8 for pants, and I tried an 8 and a 10 because they looked small on the hanger. The 10 "fit". I put fit in quotations because I COULD zip and hook them up, however the rise did not suit my body type. I was getting major front and back wedgie and I know if I sized up to a 12, it would look sloppy all over. I think it's just because I have a long torso and wider hips which doesnt fare well for some pants.

I also tried the Halogen High Waist Trousers in grey and they fit in the size 8, but still had a bit of uncomfortable pulling due to the rise. Oh and they were too short for me (I have a 33 inch inseam!).

Finally, I decided to try on this Vince Camuto top (at least I THINK it was Vince Camuto??? Even though there was a full size run online earlier, now I cant find the shirt anywhere!). It was a shimmery, long sleeve, v-neck top which was ombre from a white/cream up top down to a grey at the bottom. Anyways, online said to size down- DO NOT SIZE DOWN! It fit tight in the arms and a bit weird in the body. Medium fit me well, however the material was itchy and kind of cheap.

I ended up buying the 3-pack of the cashmere mist deodorant... I hope it will work, I swear I have some out of control armpits that can't be tamed by anything and it's terrible lol...

I can remember a pair of heels back around 2002 that I liked a lot and found comfortable, the heel broke and nordstrom gave me a new pair :)

I work in finance and I just can't look at the brand the same after the scandals.

I get that. Whenever I see shoes I like, and I learn that they are SM, I always wonder who they're knocking off this time.

Has anyone gotten anything to take back? I got an alert for a pop back and I wasn't fast enough to my computer. I was in a meeting. 😭 Iit seems like people who have been able to go into the store have had better luck than those who needed items shipped.
FWIW, picking up in store is not foolproof. I placed an Ambassador order Tuesday night (PST) and went to pick it up Wednesday, most items were there but some were missing so they had to cancel them and I had order them again for shipping. Because it was early in the sale, the stock was still there but the longer this goes, the less likely. I had a pair of shoes that were too big so I exchanged them in store for the smaller size to be shipped. I watched Wednesday, night, yesterday and today they shipped. I had a pair read in my cart to order and pick up at another store if the inventory started showing too low. It seems like a scramble between store stock and inventory stock. Another example, someone posted the Frame sailor jeans on racks in, I think, SoCal. But they were showing out of stock from the very first night.
