I send my wish list to my SA before access day and she pulls what they have in stock for me to look at on Wednesday (I was also demoted to Ambassador this year). Before the store opens on access day (9:00pm Pacific time on Tuesday) , I order on-line what is not available in-store with expediated shipping to Nordstrom Local. I'm not sure there is a private event for Ambassador tier - only Icon tier on Tuesday but I will ask!

Also, alterations are not free for Ambassadors like they are for icons. You have to pay for them and then you get Nordstrom notes as reimbursement.
There is a private event for Ambassadors before the store opens on July 12. Two hours. I forgot that you pre-pay your alterations at this level and get Notes ... but it's still worth it, no?

Ontrac delivered 13 of my 15 items in 4 boxes today. I’m not home until Sunday and MIL is housesitting. Should I have her model all my sunglasses??
I’ll post prompt reviews when I’m back!
ETA pics of what I got (Kenzo sunnies and Z&V sweatshirt haven’t shipped yet):

I have the Faherty Shirt Dress on my wishlist, so I'll be especially curious about that. Safe travels!

I’m thinking items and brands are missing too. I don’t see anything from The North Face which has been a staple in the sale as far back as I can remember. And this is the year I was planning on replacing the NF down coat I bought years ago. I did get this Blanc Noir one ordered in the frenzy of the small window to place orders yesterday. It’s the only thing I ordered as I read everyone’s posts close to when they shut the website down and didn’t have my wishlist ready. Happy I snagged this one though and it shipped!
I’d love some modeling or real life shots of it when it arrives, if you don’t mind. I’ve got that one on my list. It looks really cute and unique in the web photos, and I love the Blanc Noir jacket I bought last year.

Thoughts on the Max Mara coats in the Anniversary Sale? Worth it or better to wait?
I can’t comment on these specific coats but will look them up for you. I did notice them on a quick scroll and noted they were wrap coats which is a classic for Max Mara. I own several Max Mara costs. I love them. A lot are unlined now so I can only wear them spring or autumn. The quality is absolutely fabulous and you will wear them for years. I have four wrap styles.. Two are lighter and in nice colours and look fabulous when I’m dressed up. One is black heavy and lined and it still looks new even though I bought it in 2017. One is unlined but has double the layers of wool is really warm and going strong. I know people who have inherited these coats from their mothers. The styles are classic which they repeat so they don’t go out of fashion…

I have a logistical question for Ambassadors/Icons who can shop early in store. I used to be Icon, now Ambassador, and I live about 2 hours from a store. I'd like to go in-person on July 12, mostly so I can take advantage of the free alterations, and but also maybe to find surprises I may have missed in the preview. I'm just trying to think of the best way to do this.

I can attend the early "private" shopping event from 8-10am, but am wondering if it's necessary if only Ambassadors can shop that day anyway. Could my time be better spent placing an order at 12:01am, choosing in-store pick-up for eligible items (and ordering anything else online) and getting to the store mid-morning to look at the rest? Trying to avoid a 6-hour sleep window when I'm not sure I have any "must-haves" anyway! What's my best strategy?
I might be alone in this but I would go into the store early. Firstly it’s a lot more fun to shop in person!! You can”t assess how you are going to feel in an item online. Online it’s hard to be certain about sizes. People are often tempted to keep items that would have been better a size up or down if only you could have tried in person. Then there is the issue of quality. It’s hard to assess the feel and drape of a fabric online. Yes I was one of those advocates for the natural fibres over the years here. Then there are all the delivery issues. It can take a long time. Then sorting and the returns!!! I suspect again people keep things that are only okay.

Finally in person there is the unexpected… you might see one item you would never have considered but you just love it…

If you have a good sales assistant they might even make some good suggestions as we tend to keep repeating the same items and it’s good to change things up a bit… try new styles etc…

Also certainly here in Europe fashion has changed a lot so it is good to try things on and push the comfort zone…

Happy shopping…

I plan on going early (downgraded from Icon to Ambassador). I RSVPd for the 8am shopping. I do plan on ordering a few things the night before. I have to ship to my daughter anyway. You do get a different feel by checking things out in person and you definitely stumble upon some great gems you would never have found online. I got in on the mad rush as well the other day. I only got as far as ordering one Natori bra (I buy a few every year), lavender wash (I buy every year), an Ugg throw and my husbands ON running shoes. All have shipped.

This is what I'd love to do ... if it didn't mean 12 am ordering and 6 am in the car to arrive in time for early shopping.

Also, I wonder if all of us downgraded from Icon to Ambassador only got our Icon status during the 10x point Nsale? Or did the shopping $$ levels change?

I have to say I really like the hot pink with the shoe. I don’t think my photos are doing it justice.

I LOVE the colors used for this sneaker! I probably would have chosen this pair over the Olukai ones I got, just for the pink, however I didn't even think to look for them. I think they look fantastic.

I would agree with shopping in person if you are able to, I am not. There are probably items I pass up because I can't see the color or feel the fabric and try it on in person. I definitely tend to buy brands I am familiar with because I understand their fit. That said there are many items that are not carried in the store so you are relying on instinct or reviews. You do the best you can when shopping online. I appreciate the free delivery and return policy of Nordstrom and I definitely do not keep anything I don't like. That's why I think this forum is such a good resource for great ideas and solid reviews.
