It is funny you mentioned returns by shipping. I purchased a pair of expensive earrings that were used and sold to me. The earrings were so dirty that I couldn’t bring myself to return them back to my local Nordstroms.

Instead I opted to ship them back. They provided a prepaid label with USPS. It took less than a week and it shows “received” in the app. Now I’m waiting on the refund which I guess will be about another week.

I’m a little nervous because I always do returns at the store.
I wonder why you were able to get a USPS prepaid label and I was stuck with FedEx prepaid labels for both mine. I truly dislike FedEx in receiving or shipping out packages and wish I could opt out of FedEx with every retailer. **You should screenshot the screen that shows "received" so you can have backup proof in case they try to do what they did to me with your return**
I was looking at Saks and Neiman's websites today and saw there is now a minimum spend for free shipping. Neiman's is $50 and Sak's is $100. Granted it's an easy threshold to meet at those stores but I don't know when they started that? Hope Nordstrom's doesn't change their policy.
I am not surprised as more companies seem to be implementing new policies surrounding free shipping and/or raising the threshold needed for free shipping. On the flip side, I saw that Macys started charging non-rewards members $9.95 to return items with their shipping labels this month. I have had so many problems with their rewards program that I was going to opt out until the Macys executive rep told me about this new change (she said it starts in September, but I saw it said August on their website when I searched for it after our call).

I would opt of FedEx as well, they are the worst in our area - I actually prefer it when I receive packages through the post office. Didn't know about Macy's although I do have a store close enough to return to directly.

I think someone said it depends on where you are in the US on what your carrier options will be. I’m in the DC area and see my return went to New Jersey.

Yep, I have screenshots of the “received by Nordstrom” status. I don’t want any shenanigans from Nordstrom!

I know I definitely did not spend as much at Nordstrom when they only offered free shipping for orders over $200!

It wouldn’t surprise me if Nordstrom started charging for returns. Or only offered free returns to cardholders (since driving customers to their credit card seems to be their MO these days).

I received notification today the return processed.
