Interesting. Thanks for digging that up!

I have only done it where I call/chat and ask the person to process the purchase for me at the sale price. I’ve never tried doing it your way (ie, buying it full price and asking them to price adjust).

Maybe my way isn’t considered a “price adjustment” and they don’t apply that policy you pasted above since technically I’m not adjusting anything but rather having them “fix” the previous order that cancelled due to some “inventory glitch” (with a casual confused hand gesture/shrug for good measure if I’m in person). I typically frame it along the lines of asking them to fix my order that was “erroneously” cancelled and show them that there are actually plenty available so “who knows what happened - isn’t that strange!?” Then they just redo the exact order at exact same price. :graucho:

Im not trying to be sketchy - all of what I say is true, which is exactly why they should honor the sale price. On the other hand, I’m not like some magical conversational master manipulator, so it could totally be random that it has worked for me and not you (which would suggest that I should stop shopsplaining clever wording choices to you). :shocked:

Trying to figure out their “whys” for things like this is baffling and impossible. I’m actually really curious what folks experience this year - keep us posted y’all!
I have done it your way, as well, and been able to get the sale price in the past.

I don't think that you're doing anything sketchy. I think it depends on who you are interacting with via phone/chat/in person more than anything. They should absolutely honor the sale price when you ordered it during the sale and they canceled it. If anything is sketchy its how they manage their inventory. Because the majority of items that show up sold out will miraculously be in stock for full price when the sale is over. It has honestly the only time I've had an issue with requesting a price adjustment. I've done it both online and in person before. Online they even have a price adjustment button for you to use when looking at your order.

I have my favorites for this year (and a few more items are on the way so more may be added).

* Dusen Dusen robe
* Faherty hoodie
* Paul Green Shay loafer
* Zella Getaway high-low dress
* Natori bliss perfection bra (this is a known favorite as it's pretty much the only bra I've worn for the last 5 years)
* Reiss cashmere black/camel cardigan

Things I've returned so far:

* Olukai flip flop (tested in my home more and they hurt my toes)
* Olukai convertible sneakers (felt weird seam inside shoe which irritated toe)
* Zella skort (I at first loved this but then thought logically about how I'd never wear it)
* Vince camuto leopard sleeveless top (said to size down, tried a size small and it was so tight across my chest and armpits that I couldnt even do the button up behind my neck so I didnt even want to bother with the medium after that)
* Zella relaxed slub long sleeve shirt (too frumpy)
* Barefoot dreams lounge shirt and pants set (got in a medium which fit okay but I tried it on again and wish the bottoms were a bit longer and that the rise was a bit higher)
* Allsaints Elora leather jacket (size 8 was too tight in the arms and shoulders while size 10 flared too much in the body)
* Cinq a sept jewel blazer and pants (material was cheap and the pants fit terribly)
* Allsaints frieda cargo pants in black (way too thin)
* Frame two button flare jeans (too stretchy, gapped in the waist)
* Re/Done "can you not" t shirt (I liked this but for the price, I didnt need it and already have many graphic t's)

I don't plan to keep anything that isn't a favorite other than my Zella anya zip sweater (which is something I needed). If I'm spending this kind of money, even on sale, then I gotta love it lol. I'll see if any items stand out from the rest once everything is here. If I fall out of love with anything in the next month then it will be returned.

I am still waiting on some Eileen Fisher, Reiss and Nordstrom branded items.
I just got the Dusen Dusen Robe yesterday, love it!!!

Right I have them match the price BEFORE buying it AND because I bought it and the item was canceled on me.

I got a few things so far, as well as a few cancellations.

These are cute…a little on the thin side though but pretty soft. Probably will keep.

This is very nice, beautiful pink…TTS. The sleeves are a bit short on me since I’m tall so I’m debating it.

This is really nice! Great quality and love that it has thumbholes! The color is really pretty too. Thinking of stalking for the black.

These are fab! Great fit, love the dark wash! They have a good amount of stretch, but don’t feel like they will stretch out too much.

Good afternoon all! Wanted to provide a couple more reviews.

I do NOT recommend the Nordstrom scuba midi skirt. I got it in a medium and the waist fits ok, maybe just a smidge looser than I'd prefer, while the hip portion of the skirt is kind of lumpy, like the seam doesnt sit nice against my body, and the fabric was really thin and cheap feeling. I returned it today.

I also got the size 12 Nordstrom stretch twill pants and lol... Gosh. They fit ok in the waist (the 10 fit better in the waist) and now they fit in the thigh and bum, HOWEVER, there is a ton of extra fabric in the crotch area which looked terrible. The pants are just weird all around, I should never have needed to get a size 12 in the first place. I think these pants will fit you if you have more of a straight body shape and thin thighs.

Just now, Fedex also delivered my Eileen Fisher ergo wedge sneakers and theyre so cute!! I'm between a 9.5 and 10 depending on brand and got these in a 10 and they fit me perfectly. They are easy to walk in and quite comfortable, they are keepers!

They seem like they will hold their shape well. I don't think I would be able to fit into a smaller size, the size I got is pretty form fitting already so if they stretch at all it will be ok I think. I am waiting for the black to come, too. I tried the plaid Vince Camuto pants in store and didn't like them as much because they don't have any stretch at all so they are not as comfy. Are the black VC like that, too?
The VC pair I got was way too big so I’m not sure. I should have the smaller size this week.

It may depend on if you’re going through customer service or a sales associate - because associates work on commission, at least when I worked at Nordstrom back in the day, they were more inclined to make price adjustments for things like this than customer service.

my favorite item are these Nike Air Max - they have a retro vibe but still the Air Max.
$75 vs $110 regular price so a pretty good deal. Of course you can always find Nike Air Max on sale at Zappos and elsewhere hard to find recent sale items in my size.

Nordstrom has some other pairs of the Air Max SYSTM and the Anniv sale version is cuter!
