I received my blazers and the SW boots and here are what I am keeping and returning. The number of items that I bought this year is lower than usual in part because the basics that I used to get during the anniversary sales have been discontinued.
Keepers this year:
The Bruno Magli Valeria booties - These seem like they will be perfect for the fall. I love that these are well made and come with low heels for comfort. These boots aren’t made specifically for the sale since Bruno Magli’s website carried these boots and the boots shipped directly from the vendor. I originally bought my regular size given
Nordstrom said these were true to size but they were too small. The next half size up is perfect. FYI I will say the opening of these shoes are quite small.
Veronica Beard Cutaway Jacket in Pinegrove - My regular size 2 arrived and given all the reviews talked about how small this jacket is, I was surprised that it wasn’t too small on me. It could work but is definitely slightly slimmer than usual for this brand I have a size 4 on the way and l mostly certainly will be keeping that one since I prefer my blazers to not be too fitted so it’s easy to move around. This green color surprised me. I like it way more than I thought I would based on the online pics.
L’Agence Chamberlain Blazer in Purple Cactus - I was hoping I wouldn’t love this color in person since I have too many blazers as is and I think this blazer is a bit pricey for what it is but unfortunately I DO love this color. It is so vibrant and true to how it shows in the online pics. This one seems true to size. I tried on size 2 and have a size 4 on the way but will most likely keep the size 2. I don’t know why this one is a hundred buckets more than the Veronica Beard jacket when I feel like that one is a bit better made. That said, I can’t say no to this color. The fit is very nice too. Just not sure about durability over time.
Things that are going back:
Stuart Weitzman Linsi OTK boots - I own a lot of SW boots with the stretch panels because they normally work well for my narrow calf circumference. This pair fits my calves OK but could be tighter. The biggest problem I have with these boots are the fact that they slide down slightly causing the leather and fabric to pool a bit near my ankles. The look isn’t as clean as I would like. I had planned wear with midi dresses and I think the bunching and pooling near the ankles would been distracting.
AG Mari jeans: I had mentioned these in a prior post already. Key reason these are going back is the fabric. Feels quite stiff perhaps due to the dye. Also concerned about color transfer for the black jeans given reviews.
Now if I can find the Bruno Magli boots in black half a size up from my regular size, I would be all set and happy with my overall haul this year. If they don’t come back in time before prices go up, I may just buy them from the vendor’s own website.
