You can absolutely still get a strap to fit in older Kelly. Just note that the hardware is narrower so the hooks need to be selected carefully.

I can't answer your question on at what "age" it wouldn't fit. I found one very vintage one that will absolutely not fit a strap as an example (not mine) due to the lack of opening on the handles:

Thanks Marbella [emoji1] The "black cat colored" pebbled leather strap is close enough unless you look closely to spot the difference. The strap leather has smaller "bumps" / grain compared to Ardennes which has wide and flatter grain. Think it'll match most pebbled leather bags.

Also ordered a narrower width strap due to the smaller hook I'd selected to fit the hardware opening on this vintage bag.

I almost bought an Henrws gold-leather strap, but it looked washed out compared to the etrusque. So hard to find a match, but at least I know the pebbled nature of these straps would work. If only I can find the right color too.

OK, my K can definitely take a strap. Ideas for a 28 sellier Rouge H w GHW? The bag is sharp and conservative -- how funky can the strap be, do you think? My clothes are casual, streamlined, occasionally funky (for someone over 50, LOL). (Also no twillies or charms, but that could change, who knows?) Thanks for your help!

It really was. I always wanted a gold-Kelly 28, and when I saw Etrusque, I liked it even more

Hi there, it took so long to get here and then found some flaws, such as leather markings, etc . The seller gave me a small refund of shipping fee. It was a minor issue and will only be using this for crossbody days, have original shoulder length strap

I was looking for the Fendi Charm and Evy thread and thought I would share this--- I am in love with the Fendi Strap You straps and they would be awesome for a Kelly.

I have this one for my feu Evy but it would be fabulous on Kelly!! Just a thought.
