All the vintage kelly's I've purchased have had straps but this one that was listed was such a ridiculously good price that it was hard to ignore. But a strap is a must for me and a deal breaker if I can't find something to make me happy. At least now I'll know where to look quickly and will jump on any good deals if they should show up again.

They are really few and far between these days.

You hit it on the head, i.e. no shoulder strap and you can find a beauty at a great price. One thing that I have done is source the cotton canvas and the hardware and had my shoemaker make me straps. I love them! They add a cool vibe, especially to a box bag, which is more of a formal leather to me.

After viewing the very high prices of the straps only, I am now of the opinion that the sellers are separating them from the bags to sell separately for more money in the long run.

I looked at them a few years ago because the quality looked so good. I'm pretty conservative cookie cutter and prefer my straps to be dead on matches for my bags. And they didn't have anything that worked for my needs.

I hesitated for a long time to order from Mautto bcos the ends do not come with the leather tabs unlike H's canvas strap. But I'm sold after seeing Chinacc's modeling pics in other thread. No regret at all, I use the grey strap today am really enjoying my Kelly now :)
