Hip hop is definitely a man's game, which is why i'll always have more respect for someone who manages to suceed without overtly selling sex. its sooooooo much more difficult that way. WTF happened to E.V.E? she could kick it with the big boys way back when. To be honest, I cant help but think of nicki as a fad. The barbies will grow up and eventually move on to something else. She better make sure her finances are in order before she ends up like some many others before her getting ish repo'd left and right. She also better hope her target demographic buys albums or that she manages to cross over somehow. I cant see her selling out arenas filled with little white girls like taylor swift does and that's definitely where the money is

I mentor 11-18 year olds, and Lawd, those little kids drive me crazy. They love Nicki, wear the cheap pink extensions, and try to dress like her (but I show them the door if skin is showing), but like you said, they'll grow up and move on to something else. I will be soooo grateful when that day comes.

I don't have kids...but when I think about..I get sh*t scared on what I'll have to deal with at that age.
As far as the mainstream so to speak, I am not a fan of Trina or Remy. I find them to be in a far distance to Lauryn, Kim, Eve, Foxy, Missy and taking it way back. SnP, Latifah, MC Lyte, etc.

Alot of artist these days (IMO) are inspired by artist from back in the day. Nicki Minaj has received so much hipe because she is the 1st to be a barbie since Lil K. And i just think lil kim still wants the spotlight but the spotlight has unfortuantly been moved to N.M.
Of course no one compares to true female MCs. I personally loved Da Brat too! I feel like Remy is really rough (which is why I admire her). Trina makes a perfect blend to Southern rappers since there's no other female from the South.
However "the game" is completely different. I feel like some rap songs playing on the radio right now in general are just horrible. There's no real substance.
