I am a fan, I just think it's stupid for grown people especially women to act like this. Men are just immature and they do dumb sh$t like this. But women in their mid 30's and one is a mother is just down right tacky to me. If you don't like someone, then don't like them and stay away from them. Why waste your time on people who have no place in your life.
No disrespect but if you can't understand then you're not as much of a fan as you feel you are...just saying. I'm a huge hip-hop fan/historian and have made no bones about it on this board. There is something quintessential to the hip-hop dissemination track that can't be beat. It's fine that your opinion is that it's tacky and you're in your right to have your opinion. I don't like putting age limits on it and moreso don't like when people project male-dominated positions on women. Remy bodied Nicki as an MC...not a female MC...just as an MC. She created a diss track that is one of the best and folks need to let her have that...

It's not about liking or not liking someone. You can bodie a person in a diss track without hating them. Jay and Nas are cool, Shan and KRS are cool...it's about proving you're the best lyrically.

Because you're a rapper you have to act stupid? Because you grew up in the projects you have to act stupid and teach your kids to be stupid? A mother is suppose to show/teach her kids better.
What does the projects have to do with this? And what does Remy's kids have to do with this? There are rappers not from the projects who flawlessly execute a diss track. They are MCs who happen to be female and they should be MCs. Is there a difference between a female and a male surgeon? Is there a difference between a male and female lawyer? Is there a difference between males and females in any profession?

Plus how do we know what she's teaching her child. I love Mobb Deep but I'm not about to live my life like Shook Ones. I'm no punk but I'm not living my life like it's Bucktown USA.

I fully agree. My husband is really into the lyricism and the beef between MCs. I, on the other hand, listen for the beat.
Do you know what set Remy off? Like where did this beef come from?

WHAT!!!! A beef over something that was said 10 years ago. They can't be serious. To stupid for me. Did Remy not hear about it in 2007, because she was in jail? SMH. Silliness

It started in 2007 then Remy went to jail, then Remy was released and the beef was reignited with each taking shots at each other on different songs.

In general, rappers are going to claim to be the greatest and have the crown especially if they're on a run. Most songs, it's just general competition rap claim staking. Nicki has been claiming everyone is her son for years now and she's been shading all female rappers; she doesn't call anyone by their name since she's just shading everyone. They all take stabs at each other....most times no one loses sleep over it since it's part of rapping. Since All the Way up blew up, Nicki started taking direct jabs at Remy. (It's clear that Nicki wants to make sure she has her own lane unchecked especially since she's never been tested.) At some point, Nicki assumed Remy had some beef with her. since Remy continues to say she's back to take the crown yadda, yadda, yadda. Typical rap ish....Nicki felt threatened clearly. Remy cleared it up and said on the radio she will say someone's name if she has a problem with them. Then Nicki did a collab with Gucci and Jason Derulo where she took very clear shots at Remy (Charlamagne said Nicki called him about not acknowledging her verses). That was the last straw for Remy and she felt she had to respond.

ETA: I'm just here for good hip-hop. From Remy to Swizz and Blaze to Mysonne...it's been a beautiful education in real hip-hop for the past few days.

Supposedly from a 2007 Nicki Minaj freestyle called Dirty Money

It can't be from Dirty Money (or 2007)....no one crowned Remy, Kim still owned it, so that opening line where she says run the crown like Chris Brown or something like that doesn't make sense. Plus, the female rapper landscape was dry at the time...it was just Kim and Foxy who were both on the last leg of their careers....that's why the lane was open for Nicki.

I kinda chuckle when Wendy, rollingstone and billboard have to explain it to the suburban kids meanwhile they're so not in the loop and just creating ish.
