Don’t feel bad. I’ve spent a small fortune on full priced 1941 with a single SA and she’s still sending me pics of things to buy but hasn’t mentioned F&F. I understand it’s at their discretion so I don’t want to bring it up but I’m a little disappointed and feel a little less eager to keep buying.

So, I’ll add my name to this list too - if anyone has a code that they are willing to share it would be greatly appreciated and definitely used.

Personally, I don’t think your SA is doing right by you. I’m not sure why she’d keep this sale from you...maybe I’m wrong, but I believe the “master” (for lack of a better word) coupon/code use IS at her discretion, but I doubt she’s limited with the amount of customers she can use it for, even if it IS “one-time use per customer” only. I may be wrong, but it sounds very odd to me.

If she IS limited in the total amount of coupons that she’s permitted to use, then at least it would make sense. But even so, if it were me I’d be looking for a replacement SA. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for your input! I even brought up the next SAS thinking it would be a good lead in for her to mention “but there’s a promotion coming up this week” but no luck. I’m trying to hold off on buying anything else until Friday. Do you think mentioning something more direct like “oh I heard there’s a promotion this week, is that right?” would put her in a weird position?

Who cares if it puts her in a weird position? If I were an SA I'd be handing those things out like candy, calling customers up and inviting them even if they DIDN'T bring it up.
So if you bring it up, she should be jumping at the bit to offer you one. If she doesn't... seriously, get a different SA. You've bought more than enough for her to offer you one.
You could also just be super direct and ask, "There's an F&F promotion coming up, could I please have an invite?"

Miraku’s suggestion is spot on! I still don’t get why your SA is not disclosing the upcoming sale to you, but it’s all very lame — she’s of no use to you. If you do confront her by nicely asking for an invite, she deserves to be embarrassed. I know that I do not like confrontations, but if I’m in the right (and in this case, a valuable customer) — my monetary savings should take precedence over her feelings.

I hope you get your well deserved discount!

I might even offer her an incentive. I hate to play games but your SA started it! BOTD, maybe she didn't know about it for some unfathomable reason. But you could say something to encourage her to work with you on these sales by saying something like "I would love to get some major shopping done during these sales! I know there's one coming on Friday - can you help me with my purchases?" That way she knows she's missing out by not alerting you of sales, and that you're willing to work with her if she's willing to alert you of discounts!

Thank you again for all of your comments :flowers:

I’m going to take your suggestions and just ask her about it. Thinking about it more, I realize it’s silly to worry about making things awkward. I do actually have a long list that’s ready to go but if she’s not interested in the sale, I’ll look for someone who is. At this point, waiting for dept store promotions or using ****** is starting to look more appealing than playing these games.

Whoa! Okay! I reached out to my bestie who recently left COACH to pursue school. The “F&F” events are just that...for Close friends and family. Not customers. He said that they are given specific instruction not to share with customers as that could put there job at risk because it’s a direct violation or something of confidentiality. Plus, apparently they are only allowed to buy so many things per year of employment...like an allotment or something according to him. I love coach don’t get me wrong but pandering a employee for discount is silly when the SAS they have in winter and summer are good sales.

I have heard the same about how restricted the employees are with the F&F sale as well as limitations on what the employees can buy throughout the year. The times I have been lucky to be invited, the employee number has been written on the card along with the special code. I'm not sure but I believe each F&F code is assigned to that individual employee so when the code is used it's applied to that employee's tally (?)

We probably have gotten used to all the Friends & Family sales that are run by the department stores and other venues which most of those (not all) are basically sales and are usually opened to all the public. Some do at least open the sale first to their special customers so they have first dibs on sale items.

I suppose if I was an employee and only had a limited set of codes, I know I would have a hard time trying to decide who to give it too. My large family alone would gobble up a huge chunk of the codes!

Thanks for explaining this better than I could. I know the SAs have a certain amount they can personally spend per year with their discount. The F&F discount is less than the employee discount but still nice. I never ask for the F&F discount and never would if my SA didn't offer it to me (I've personally told her this). We've built a big sister/little sister friendship but I was a client first. Although the line has been blurred btwn client and friend she knows that I expect her to offer it to her family or friends (outside of being a customer) first.

Thx for the explanation, I had no clue about these limitations!

I hope some of you guys end up with a discount somehow; it’s seems unfair that some TPF’ers won’t be offered the same discount as others are.

So what is the difference between the event coming up this Friday and a PCE?
The friends and family sale is more exclusive, you can only get this discount if an employee gives it to you. It’s not open or advertised to the public. The employee is restricted on how many can be given out. The discount is usually 40% off any regular price and last time it included an extra 20% off sale items. There are few exclusions and most 1941 items are included in the sale.

The Preferred Customer Event (PCE) can also be exclusive to a point but it’s open to most customers. The employees can basically offer it to anyone with no restrictions. The PCE can be a straight 30% or a tier up to 30%. Usually there are more exclusions like the 1941 line from this type of sale. Sometimes this is offered without a code/invitation or you may receive an email from Coach telling you about it.

Any idea what the pricing will be like for the SAS?
It's separate from the PCE, right?
