News on date codes!

Oh, I‘m glad I found this thread, because I had posted a question regarding this issue in the Neverfull Club without a reply so far!
So my new Empreinte Neverfull, that came on Tuesday, doesn‘t seem to have a date code , neither on the bag nor inside the pochette. I first thought that maybe I just couldn‘t find it, because I had seen pictures online of that exact bag with date codes. And it‘s a new model, it was only launched two weeks ago, so why wouldn‘t they bring it out without date codes right from the beginning? But seemingly they did! One picture of a date code that I saw online showed that the bag had been produced in week 7, which would be mid February. So I assume that they changed to hidden RFID (?) tags with the beginning of March.

Have we confirmed whether or not the bags without date codes will still state the country it was made (unless it was in the United States, in which case it wouldn't say "Made in XYZ" at all)?

For example, if a bag with a RFID chip was made in France, would it say "made in France" and just not include a date code? Or will all pieces with the RFID chips just say "Louis Vuitton"?
Since LVMH considers "made in France" to be of value in itself (that's the whole point of their Hermès attempt), I am sure that it will stay.

I just purchased a new Keepall B 55 and there is no date code at all. I called LV and they said not all items have date codes. Is this true? I purchased it from the online store and I have a receipt.

I received a brand new Card holder the azur daily model, and no code. Only made in France. I called CS and they told me the only way to proove my authenticity is my invoice... I am a little worry because I ordered a Noe azur and I am hoping there is a code.

If it was already made months ago, it might have it, but no new models will.
I want that bag too :)

I had the same issue with my neverfull, I contacted lv and received confirmation that not all bag have the date code and that it’s not an issue. Hopefully having my invoice is this confirmation from lv will help me if I ever want to sell the bag.

Hi all,
I purchased the PSM today in store but only looked for the date code once I arrived home, but I couldn't find it. It is nowhere in the bag. I called CS and the rep informed me that this is not the only way to confirm authenticity which I am aware of. During the conversation, she explained that they are starting to put chips in the bags to prevent counterfeiting and told me that it would not be visible to me. The style number is M44873 which is the newer version, but many sources state that this product does still have a physical date code tab. She went on to tell me this is a new technology, however, I'm curious if anyone has this style without a visible code? Thanks

I just purchased and received from the LV online store, a Speedy B Damier Ebene 30. Never had a Speedy before and my older LV's have date codes. To my shock, this one has no date, none where I could see, at least. Meticulously looked all over the bag and nothing, so I completely panicked, called CS, then was going to travel 3 hours away to my nearest LV store to possibly exchange for one that has one. I think I feel a bit better after reading this thread!

I just bought an LV bag last week from the boutique and I almost returned it because there wasn’t a date code.

I felt like some of my aunts or nosy coworkers might want to see the bag and see the date code to see if my bag was real and I was scared they might think it’s fake, (I have really stuck up aunts and coworkers.)

(When I asked the SA where the date code was, he was taking super fast and had a thick accent and I already asked him to repeat himself so I just nodded politely when he was explaining why there wasn’t one )

this thread brought me clarity!

I got a Neverfull Azure Gm today at the boutique and I panicked not finding the date codes on the bag itself and the pochette. Thank you for this thread I was about to have a heart attack. LOL. We went to 3 diff stores and stayed in line for couple of minutes. Anyway my husband went to the store to ask, the client advisor said it has a chip inside the bag.
