New York Sale -- back on?

6pm and the line closed. This girl told me she's been there since 9am and trying to get in but line in closed. Saw some ladies with neon armbands that were able to push there way past the crowd and in. Is that the VIPs? Saw some familiar faces from wall st h. Never been to a sample sale this wild! I gave up just looking at the craziness.

Ladies and Gents, the sale is fantastic!

By the time I entered the sale at a bit after 9, the line was already to 31st street. As has already been stated, it's longer now...

When I entered: Scarves galore. Bangles galore. I jumped into the scarves and found two large mousselines. No more large scarves like dip dyes (I saw one woman holding a few—I broke the commandment about coveting…). There were also a small number of sequined/embroidered pieces.

But then I discovered my holy grail: the 90cm tea-dyed scarf from several years ago. For $240. I nabbed it quick.

For quite some time, I just let myself go through the scarf selection carefully and repeatedly. There was a huge range of patterns and colors, though the colors did concentrate more on the yellows and greens and purples. A nice range of 90cm dip dyes. Here is a list of what I remember seeing (patterns only)—many in only a couple color ways and even just a couple pieces:

Le Robinson Chic, Trésors Retrouvés, Le Laboratoire du Temps, Casques et Plumets, Tigre du Bengale, Galop Chromatique, Les Cannes, Wa’Ko’Ni, Les Bolides, Tous les Bateaux du Monde, Pique Fleuris de Provence

I’m sure there were others, but I don’t know the names of the 90s very well….

The limit is 5 and I easily used up my quota.

By the time I left at 10AM, the scarf drawers were vastly diminished. When I arrived, they were overflowing down the length of the table… now it looked positively mediocre. I don’t know if they’ll replenish stock.

By the time I left, bangles were also vastly diminished, though there still seemed a lot.

There was no more silver.

There were a few (yellow mostly) smaller leather bracelets.

There were a few leather bangles.

There was gorgeous RTW and knits.

There were no housewares and no perfume. I’m sad about the latter. There were no watches. Bummer.

There were plenty of shoes. There were lots of heels and a few heeled high boots.

There were no belts.

There was a vast array of gorgeous ties for $75.

Here are the 5 scarves and 5 bangles I chose...
Great stuff!! Love that Tous les bateaux, and your moussies!! Sweet bangles, too.:heart:

This news is exceptionally sad... Who would have suspected that the sale would generate this kind of mania.

I went with my girlfriend yesterday and was a lot calmer. We were there around 1:25 and took about 45 min to get in. Here is my haul...

Five scarves limit is very tough. I got a 90 twill, a dip die, a jersey, a 45 and a beaded.

It was not an easy trip for us to go to the city during the week but with sales like this, let say we are happy girls at the end of the day.

These scarves are beautiful—you have two I sadly put down due to the limits (the jersey and the beaded). I adore those green gloves, too!

Last year it was total madness even on the last day. Not shocked at all that first day of public sale ppl go nuts
This maybe Hermes' best sale, but it is the worst for me. I got there at 9am, the line was all the way to 31th street and 9th ave. I waited on line to 5:30pm. After standing in line for 8.5 hours, there were still more than ~115 people ahead of me, then some guys came out from the building, gave out unspecified # of yellow wrist bend to about 70 to 80 people, announced these people can get in today, rest people can come back tomorrow! So I did not get in after wasting a whole day standing on line. And there were 40 to 50 people ahead of me did not get in, they must got there around 8:30ish.
I asked multiple line watchers many times during the day, if we have a chance to get in, they said it should be 6.5 hours from end of line to check out.
I have been to past Hermes sale, never saw anything like today. I have not waited in line for this looooong, never left empty hand.
The line was all the way to 9th ave at 5:30pm. I don't think I will go back tomorrow, I had enough. They should find a way to manage the line better, not to waste people's time.

Too much effort
Should be a pleasurable experience
I live in the Miami area
Our sale (one month ago) was terrific
Great experience
No lines
Super friendly
Varied choices
No handbags
Fortunate for me[emoji41]
I spent enough
Did no need more damage!

I'm really sorry to hear this! That is terrible! I know I went to the last sale. It was 45-1 hr wait on a Friday afternoon. I took off a day for that sale. By the time I got in nor more scarves or shawls. Enamel bracelet counter was a total madness. RTWs was okay so was shoes.
