Ladies and Gents, the sale is fantastic!

By the time I entered the sale at a bit after 9, the line was already to 31st street. As has already been stated, it's longer now...

When I entered: Scarves galore. Bangles galore. I jumped into the scarves and found two large mousselines. No more large scarves like dip dyes (I saw one woman holding a few—I broke the commandment about coveting…). There were also a small number of sequined/embroidered pieces.

But then I discovered my holy grail: the 90cm tea-dyed scarf from several years ago. For $240. I nabbed it quick.

For quite some time, I just let myself go through the scarf selection carefully and repeatedly. There was a huge range of patterns and colors, though the colors did concentrate more on the yellows and greens and purples. A nice range of 90cm dip dyes. Here is a list of what I remember seeing (patterns only)—many in only a couple color ways and even just a couple pieces:

Le Robinson Chic, Trésors Retrouvés, Le Laboratoire du Temps, Casques et Plumets, Tigre du Bengale, Galop Chromatique, Les Cannes, Wa’Ko’Ni, Les Bolides, Tous les Bateaux du Monde, Pique Fleuris de Provence

I’m sure there were others, but I don’t know the names of the 90s very well….

The limit is 5 and I easily used up my quota.

By the time I left at 10AM, the scarf drawers were vastly diminished. When I arrived, they were overflowing down the length of the table… now it looked positively mediocre. I don’t know if they’ll replenish stock.

By the time I left, bangles were also vastly diminished, though there still seemed a lot.

There was no more silver.

There were a few (yellow mostly) smaller leather bracelets.

There were a few leather bangles.

There was gorgeous RTW and knits.

There were no housewares and no perfume. I’m sad about the latter. There were no watches. Bummer.

There were plenty of shoes. There were lots of heels and a few heeled high boots.

There were no belts.

There was a vast array of gorgeous ties for $75.

Here are the 5 scarves and 5 bangles I chose...

How were the gloves department when you left?

Thanks for the info! May I know what time you joined the line and if there's any shoes in flats? Thanks

Congrats, everyone! On days like this, I wish I still lived in the city, instead of the suburbs! I think I might leave the kids with a babysitter and try to check out the sale on Saturday... hopefully there will be some goodies left, even if they end up not restocking like the rumors say.

OMG! That's hilarious! Her "spy" report is based on everything in this thread! Check out the list of 'identifiable scarf patterns' -- they're the ones I posted! And she couldn't even get the scarf prices right!

Mizhattan should have better coverage today. At least *she* actually goes to the sales she writes about instead of copying information and trying to pass it off as her own experience.

well, you know spies are folks who are duplicitous and get try to get information in underhanded ways. (sorry, I am sick of her stealing other peoples' work and passing it off as her own.)

I have a friend who was allowed in at 9AM yesterday before the regular VIPs at noon. She said that there were some beaded Exceptional scarves and a beaded twilly but they were scooped up right away. She also said that there were CSGMs from the men dept and they, too, were scooped up before the regular VIPs could see them.

I'm in the same boat, but my "kids" are in their 90s.

They must have found some more of the beaded pieces because there were plenty there (though not the beautiful Brazil that I *think* got found yesterday), but I didn't see any more Cashmeres.... Still, lots of lovely things.

For those who asked:

There were flats, though heels were more plentiful.

Gloves were getting low.

Just got back and will really need some good massage now after that LOOOOOOOOOONG wait! It ended up taking me 7.5hrs to get in. And I got there at 7:15/7:20am!! When I left there were still a ton of people waiting out there.

Depending on your shoe size, you don't find that many options for popular sizes anymore. If you're size 35, 36, or 41+ you might still find something attractive. Gloves department is not even worth your time now. You need to keep checking back scarf section, as people tend to grab whatever they can and release whatever is not on their "top 5". So there's constantly something new there. But I didn't see any 140cm and very few mousselines.

If anyone is thinking about going there, go before the city wakes up or don't waste your time.
