I'm still missing my bag, even though it was defective.
Poor you! That's sad really, I can imagine how you feel. But maybe if you wait a little and still miss it that badly, you could buy another, carefully checked and this time perfect one.
Just remember why you gave it back in the first place and ask yourself if you could live with the possible flaws it would get from wearing it.

I would have been irritated as well. I can't believe the terrible quality of design with the new speedy. I'm so glad you took that second look at it before it was too late and you were stuck with an already falling apart bag. Your pictures truly shocked me. I wasn't expecting for it to look THAT terrible, especially the print job on the key clochette. Although the gold lettering was so far to the left that I don't know which was worse. That would have driven me nuts even if you could've exchanged just the key clochette. The lettering on the bag looked a bit better print-wise but it would've eventually chipped away just like on the key clochette. I was actually listening to a Beyoncé song when I was looking at the pictures you posted and the picture of the lettering between the two rivets made me think of her song irreplaceable where she sings "To the left to the left!!!"... because of how to the left your lettering was!! It made me laugh out loud at how tacky the lettering makes this bag look. Again, thank you so much for sharing the pictures, as you have helped many of us steer clear of this bag :). Very grateful for the purse forum and your contribution to it so we can make informed decisions on these large purchases. And I second your idea of exchanging his wallet if it doesn't thrill him- maybe get something to go with your beautiful new purchase, that unlike the speedy, is perfect. I do hope he likes the wallet though once he tries it out. Maybe switch his wallet out for him and it'll grow on him. So happy for you though, congrats again. And hope you enjoy the rest of Disney :)

Totally cracked up about Beyoncé...to the left is right!

Finally! The bloomingdales I reserved from still didn't have it in. so I bought it at the LV store itself  The cerise empreinte speedy 25.

I'm growing less excited due to the strap; it's too damn long. Even my husband commented on the length as soon as he saw it on me. I'm ordering a no-name-brand strap in a couple different lengths.

Congrats on your Cerise Speedy!

I think that length is for crossbody. I've been told by my SA that LV can customise/ cut the strap shorter but there's only a certain length that they can cut off and of course, you'd have to leave the strap and return for it (like a repair ). They won't punch extra holes in it.

I've not had this problem because I carry my Speedys handheld, including my empreinte Speedy 20.

its very strange bc on the LV website only the black one has smooth leather on the side the rest are embossed

I'm sure that's just a graphic designer's mistake.

Yeah, it's from the website. I was confused when I first saw the official product pics as well but apparently the sides are smooth in reality.

Only thing I noticed today was website says there are bottom studs but mine does not have them. I also noticed that the 25 on website has the monogram on the sides which I think is an error. It is pebbled on the 20 on website and IRL. Mastic in 30 shows monogram on sides as well. Will call LV hotline to inquire.

Hi tpfers, I'm a graphic designer in fashion so I can help clear some confusion here regarding the mix up in the photographs and descriptions.

Typically the photographers shoot the samples for website first while the bag is being produced, it is the only thing they have to work off of. Then as products are being mass produced (even if by hand) things may change in the process to stay cost efficient however way that may be....

And graphic designers have no role in any of this lol.

Usually a whole other team uploads these photos and chances are, it wasn't brought up to their attention there were changes made in production, they haven't received a new sample, or are in the process of photographing the new one and going through all the proper channels to be uploaded (this usually can take a few days to weeks). In an ideal world everyone would be in sync but sometimes things fall through the cracks.

Thanks for sharing! Very insightful. My sister was going to study Graphic Design but switched to Illustration. Personally, I wish they'd be more consistent on the website. It reflects badly on the brand itself. Graphic Designers are only one cog in the machine, as you've pointed out. There's nothing wrong with one or two errors or lags now and again but there's a whole slew of them constantly and they never seem to correct them (I think they've been contacted before about a few errors and those were fixed but it shouldn't fall on the customer to catch these things).

It shouldn't fall on customers, it's up to the employees and unfortunately they don't always have the information, especially at a very large corporation.

But, of course I agree with everyone, it is completely annoying, as I do all my online research prior to coming into stores!:facepalm::lol:
