A few months ago.. I really can't recall but the Brisbane store had a few Birkins and Kellys on window display. .. I ask if I could purchase one of them and the SA said they were on loan for display purposes only. . Has anybody come across that before?
The stores in Paris have bags for display only, but they have signs stating this, so it's not really misleading.
My sa said they are not allowed to sell display item since the quality might be less since they already got sun exposure etc etc. I personally won't mind it as long as they are still in great condition but I guess h does mind.
At my local store, they are quite willing to take an item out of the window to sell to me. I do believe that the fabulous bags in the FSH windows would be for display only. But a regular evelyne or kelly? why? I wish they did have display bags in each size so you could try them on.
What a brilliant idea to keep one of each size purse and style so clients can use them to gauge what size works best. Why didn't H think of that?
My home store do have samples for customers to try on sizes. They don't have it for every size and they don't display them. But if you ask, they bring them out for you to try. I have tried a K28 and B30 before.
I've experienced something similar - if they have one in stock, they'll definitely let you try it on for size!
Just to clarify, the samples I tried were just samples, they were not stocks for sale. They have been handles to death and very weather beaten.
Actually, most H stores I've been to have sample bags not for sale. They're used or clients to try on.
Perhaps the store closest to me is the exception to the rule or they speak with forked tongue.
