new rule - no Kelly or birkin to walk ins??

lol... I've experienced no such "generous" policy of trying sample Ks or Bs on for size, either. I suspect, however, that others may have been offered this opportunity. ;)

On a side note... I wish this was an option for every bag style & size H sold!

Perhaps the store closest to me is the exception to the rule or they speak with forked tongue.

Ah another one of us who is not hip to the secret handshake. :D

My home store do have samples for customers to try on sizes. They don't have it for every size and they don't display them. But if you ask, they bring them out for you to try. I have tried a K28 and B30 before.

This. I was just at FSH in Paris on 7/10 and the extremely kind SA that I was working with asked if I wanted to try on Kelly samples for size. He pulled out the sizes that I requested, 35cm and 40cm, and then asked if I wanted to see what they had in the computer. I of course said yes and the rest is history! I purchased an Etain Clemence with PHW. Best H experience ever! :D

I think these "rules" are only to scare the Resellers :)
Once waiting in Line at FSH A lady next to me was texting via Whattsapp with her clients:
About what she allready got : charms and twillys
And what they want to order, in the end the SA said no to her and she left.

Okay seriously - please be honest MarvelGirl, were you glammed up and look like a celebrity or are you someone famous? The fact that he showed you the inventory on the computer screen sounds like VIP treatment.

Well, actually I also saw the inventory on the computer. The only thing is that I saw there was nothing. That's why I thought they were saying the truth to me about having no B35. and i got upset when I read in this thread that someone bought a bag the same day I went there (when in fact it was a day earlier).

When they do the search you kind of can see the computer screen... :p

If they were showing you their computer to show they had nothing in their inventory, I think that's different than having them show you their inventory and getting your pick of which bag to buy.

With respect to you feeling upset that someone else got a bag after they told you they had none, perhaps it was simply a timing issue? You came too late or they got more inventory after you left?

Anyway, I don't go to Hermes in Paris but I'm certain that at my local store I will never see the day where they show me their inventory on their computer screen!

At the H Paris the computer screen is build into the table, in the counter, so it's really low and if you're standing next to the table you can see the screen.
Of course they don't allow you to come next to the SA and do the search but if you have good vision you can see whats on the screen and what the SA is typing.

And in my situation, I came too late, after the TPF lady bought her Kelly. But when she said "I bought it yesterday morning", I thought it was Saturday morning when I was there but she bought it actually on Friday morning. And I was all busy with my work to go to the H shopping.

After reading many of the posts and seeing all the head games, inconsistencies and rudeness on the part of SAs over buying a Birkin or Kelly, it makes me think 'why?' Why the dysfunction and why do we submit ourselves to such bs? Is a material item worth all this? At the end of the day, its just a bag to tote around our stuff.

I totally agree. Its the one exception where we as consumers have no power grab!! I mean. . Im a property investor.. I wheel and deal with negotiations and yet.. when it comes to purchase a hand bag.. we succumb to such practice. .

Yes I know what you mean and it's really frustrating and mind boggling thats its so difficult to spend the thousands of dollars we are all prepared to. But at the end we succumb and find ourselves yearning for the next B!

They normally check on the screen and tell ppl no there is no bk. But if you know the sales, they will ask what do you want color hardware, then go down stairs to check, and show the bk to you in a quite area. That happens every time when I go there.

The computer screen in FSH is just at the counter, actually it's easy to see if you stand right next to the SA. To be sure that they don't have any bk, the SA will have to go down stairs to check. Every time I go there, the SA always tell the ppl in front of me no bk no kelly, pls come back an other time. But I always get my bk in the color I want, so that means they almost always have it in stock.

That's true. My SA from FSH has introduced their department manager to me, while she was there checking on everybody. Actually she is not very nice at all. :thinkin:

I did saw the other manager came down stairs to talk to the super vip, promised her bag will be at her hotel by 10am the next morning, they also to the clothes of the display model and sold to her.
