Mokki posts from TPF!

I got the Mokki in Camel. I immediately regretted the purchase because I wasn’t sure it was worth the price. Once I reconciled the purchase itself, I regretted my Camel color selection— in part because the pictures posted to Reddit of the Camel in-store were… lackluster.

She came today, and I am squarely on the fence. I think the lines of this bag might show best in the Chalk or Taupe, because the Camel isn’t really knocking me out.

I think it's interesting. I understand where they're going with the design, and I don't hate it. But I don't love it either.
I do wish the handle was not "flat" and more hmm, "circular"? Like the handles for a top-handle bag on a Kelly or a Moynat Gaby. I feel it would bring a little more structure and 3-D-ness to the bag and give it a more elevated look. But those kind of handles are tough to make.
I appreciate the feet. Always like feet on a bag with a flat bottom. I think having one divider is nice. Enough to stay organized but not too many dividers that it would compromise space.
My major pet peeve, would be that, over time, would the top flap shift so that the central-line stitching does not line up? Especially since its a contrast stitch, it would be more obvious. My OCD would hate it lol.

It's the exact reason why I could not bring myself to buy the savette symmetry pochette. If the top part warps, then due to the design of the bag, you can tell that the lines are not parallel.

Putting color aside, what do you think about the design itself?

Annoyingly, the camera on my phone refused to render the bag colours correctly in daylight, so I do apologise for the terrible colours on all the comparison photos. (But for once the Polène website photos are fairly accurate, and @the_baglover has published perfect photos of Ebony Mocci on the general Polene thread.)

Mocci is smaller than she looks on the mod-shots on Polène website! And a lot smaller than the measurements on website indicate. While she is 32.5 cm wide at her base, her top width (both top flap and internally) is only 21.5cm.

So while she is 6-7 cm wider at the base than Numéro Un, Mocci is actually a smaller, more compact bag

Mocci's base width (or is it length?!) of 32.5cm is a mere 0.5 cm more than Numéro Neuf, and the two can be perceived to be of a similar size

but Mocci is narrower "in all directions"

Due to flap top, Mocci's interior is more easily accessible than Numéro Neuf, and her shape is in my opinion better suited to crossbody carry than the otherwise lovely full-sizes Neuf.

Mocci's shoulder strap is fantastic. Wide yet so elegant. Gorgeous stitching.

The studs on the strap have a really beautiful shape - I have never seen studs like this before - I have only ever seen round ones.

And Mocci's base studs/"feet" ... well - they are in a class of their own.

@Fancyfree , thank your for all the details and comparisons ! That is very helpful. I like the look and size of the Mokki, but I also do not like the handle. It looks a bit uncomfortable to hold :frown: . Not sure if I want to pay 500€+ for this bag...

Thank you for the comparison pics! I definitely prefer the Neuf design so I'll skip the Mokki.

I love the design of their new bag, but it seems so heavy... Can't wait to see it in person to make up my own mind.
Had a look at the weights of different designs.

Mokki: 860 g/1.89 pounds
Un: 925 g/2 pounds
Cyme: 900 g/1.98 pounds

Neuf: 760 g/1.67 pounds
Huit: 640 g/1.41 pounds
Un Nano: 440 g/0.97 pounds
Dix: 386 g/0.85 pounds
