New packaging

Yes, I just noticed now we can buy it online. Wonder how this affects the 'exclusivity' factor, and wonder if it comes with the new packaging.. would be quite disappointed tbh
Not every single item is available for purchase online but I noticed that some YG guilloche and WG guilloche pieces are!:panic:

I have been wanting the YG 5 motif guilloche bracelet for quite some time but it’s always out of stock and my SA said there is a waitlist for it.

Now that I can just add it to cart, I am so tempted to pull the trigger but a few things are making me hesitate:
a) Ideally I would prefer to purchase through my SA but if I have to go on a waitlist, who knows how long until it’s my turn and what packaging will I get?
b) If I end up buying it online, what happens if it comes with the new packaging? That would bother me a lot.
c) Part of me feels like I’m pulling the trigger now because I don’t want the new packaging (first world problem, I know).

This may end up being my final VCA purchase so it is a big deal to me and I would like the old packaging if possible. Guess I need to reach out to my SA…

Hi! If you really want this bracelet, I would buy it now while it's available online.
With luxury goods, it's often about "strike while the iron is hot."

Thoughts...
- Your SA knows you want one, yet you are not on the wait list. An SA is just a sales person, and you owe her nothing. She is the one who should be helping you, not the other way around.
You SA does not have the product, but you can get it elsewhere. I have no problems buying from other SAs/websites if something is out of stock or not available with my regular SAs. This goes for not just jewelry, but also bags, shoes, clothing.
This is especially true if this is your last VCA piece or you will not buy more pieces in the near future. Your SA will soon forget you once you stop buying.

- If you order it online and do not like it, you can get a full refund. There is zero risk here, especially since you can get it now.

- Packaging is just that. While this thread has a lot of emotion regarding doom & gloom about the box, in the end, it's the jewelry piece that matters. I personally still love VCA pieces, regardless of packaging.

Final thought... full circle... do you really want this bracelet?
You may want to ask yourself why did you not already put yourself on the wait list with your SA or put down a deposit?
Why do you want it now all of a sudden? If timing is not right, I would skip. Buy when you are ready. Packaging is such a small detail here. If you are ready and have wanted this bracelet for a while as you said, buy it online. There is zero risk as online offers a full refund.

Good luck!

It’s usually harder to get popular pieces around the holidays so I would pull the trigger. You could call in to place the order, maybe they can put a note in regards to your packaging preferences.

Given the lack of stock generally in the VCA boutiques, if you really want the piece, just buy it online. I would rather buy the piece from the online boutique if it's available than hope and pray that you go through the waitlist swiftly in store.

Thank you for providing your thoughts @BigAkoya!

You always give out great advice and I truly appreciate that you took time out of your day to provide such a detailed response to my post! You have given me lots to think about :)

Thank you!

My partner said the same thing to me :)

Thank you for replying and congrats on your new creation! It is stunning!

It looks really nice!

They never offered online purchasing for Australian customers until recently so we never got the infamous grey felt box with the ridiculous amount of shredded paper but this new packaging looks wonderful and I like that they are using recyclable bags.

I’m the type to keep everything but at least anyone who doesn’t want to keep all the packaging can recycle it.

I just hope their version of an ‘elegant case’ isn’t those travel pouches inside the white box… surprise!

Oh and just my luck, the YG 5 motif bracelet is now out of stock on the website

I’ve picked it up! I’m such a happy bunny to finally get my order after 10 weeks…

My SA was on holiday unfortunately, so I ended up with an older, less competent SA, who marred what would have been a special shopping day with her brusque nature and perfunctory service…

Anyway, luckily, I didn’t have to put up a fight with her - I got the old packaging for the purchase…

Although, I did have to ask her for a travel pouch and a cleaning cloth, both of which were only proferred with a dissatisfied grunt…

They were out of the long paper bags, and again, I had to ask her for a proper sized paper bag, as the receipt sleeve was sticking out of the petite one she originally provided!

No chance of any candles or coffee table books on my end - her response was - “go ask your SA when she’s back…“ (Nice…)

She even stuffed up the wrapping… I mean, look at that travesty!

But in any case, I’m at least glad that I got the full set without any resistance, and I now have my long-awaited addition!

Don't let anything spoil your day, glad you got the full package :ps:

for some reason the new packaging linked above reminds me of Bulgari's.
I wish VCA would have just left everything alone as in: if it ain't broke don't fix it.

The new packaging seems highly styled but more mainstream and less luxe.
