I hate the idea of spending more money to buy a strap, and also, Hermes is out of everything that would complement the two that I own. It's frustrating. Second, the handle is perfect for handheld but too small to wear in the crook of my arm, so if I need to hold something in two hands--such as a bag of groceries, it's either the groceries or the bag. These are minor complaints overall, and obviously they're not stopping me from enjoying the bag.

@Chanellover714, if you are a blue green person, i think the Vert B is fabulous for all seasons but dead of winter, but especially spring summer. The black is stunning,, but so are many black bags! JMO
@frenchcitygirl, I love your analogy of chanel 19 to CF. I think it’s odd that I’m suddenly attracted to both this bag and the 19

Here you go! I added the strap. I'm 5'1". I went back and forth on sizing and ultimately went with the 85cm strap. The 105cm was too long. The bag hit too low and looked and felt awkward.

I am definitely a blue/green gal. Most of my wardrobe is cool colors or white/black. The only warm color I tend to wear is camel which also goes great with blue and green :) I also live in Texas and in my head feel like black isn’t a non-winter daytime color here despite being neutral (my boyfriend thinks I’m crazy but he is from the north!)

ALSO I love the reference to the C19 as well. BRILLIANT! My C19 is by far my favorite and most useable Chanel bag and I can absolutely see how the 24/24 is going to be similar in terms of how I feel about my Kelly 28. I think any bag lover is always going to have love to a classic Chanel flap and a Kelly Sellier, but in terms of actually using them day to day there is just something missing (for me). Maybe it’s the relaxed vibe or slouchy structure as I’ve always wondered if I will feel differently about a kelly retourne?

Last, I’ve seen so many mentions of disliking the strap hook position but I have to say personally I like it! I feel like the bag leans against my body better than on my kelly and I feel less concerned about the weight of the bag resting mostly on the clasp as it does with the kelly if you don’t do the sangles. It is similar to my Celine micro belt bag which has held up great over three years of usage.

Seriously considering keeping both and letting go of some others in my collection that I just don’t reach for.

@Chanellover714, thanks for your review of the ch19 and I agree with you re black not being summer daytime unless you live in a Northern climate, JMO, it’s also urban.

i Really do adore @frenchcitygirl ’s analogy of 24/24 to kelly, as ch19 is to CF. The only thing holding me back is I am a reissue person. I wonder if chanel19 would come out in reissue. Something to ask my SA :biggrin:
Edit: SA texted me that she has seen the ch19 in 2.55 format

I haven't had any issues, but my nails are not long and I'm careful. Moreover, I've used it nearly continuously since last December. It's a daily workhorse and I've traveled with it. I can honestly say it shows no signs of wear--but I am careful. I never put it on the floor or a countertop without something underneath it, it has it's own seat in the car, I'm careful with the corners and I do not overstuff it.

How about an Etain Kelly? Or a Craie Kelly? Those two colors often come with rose gold hardware, which makes them a little more special. And Hermes' rose gold isn't too pink either. A Kelly or Birkin will probably be the best option for the long haul.
