I love the look of the zebra Barlow. Dooney has done a lot of zebra patterned leather over the years. I have a satchel and a Chiara.... both with red trim. I think they are very sharp looking if worn with the right outfits. .... black, white, grey.... very neutral and let the zebra handbag be the focal point.

The ladies on this forum understand how to make a handbag the best part of your outfit. The rest of the planet just wears the same handbag every day, whether or not it works with their outfits.
I especially notice this in the "Dooneys in the Wild" thread :nogood:

Question... I know somebody here own/owned the Florentine Zip Barlow... I'm wanting to know if it passes the elbow test. Can you put it on the shoulder with one hand?

I could. But I'm 5' nothing with small stick arms arms to quote my husband. 😂

I returned it because I knew I'd ruin it. It's a heavy beast & I'd throw it around to get it to cooperate in daily living. The thought of scratches on a bag that cost that much gave me palpitations, lol.

I have this bag in Chestnut and it is absolutely stunning. I am 5'2" so my problem was the weight of the bag (a lot of leather and a lot of weight) and the strap is too long to carry in my hand...it almost drags on the ground. I am bringing it to the Post Office for return tomorrow but my heart will be aching since it so beautiful and one of the finest bags Dooney has done in my opinion.

Ahhhh, I bet that Chestnut is gorgeous in person. Sorry she didn't work out for you. It may be my perfect "as is". [emoji16]

Awww, I totally understand. Something else will come up.

How much does it really weigh? QVC doesn't always get it right. The city python Barlow was listed as 3lb 1 oz and I just weighed it as 2.4 lbs. Love the look of the Florentine, but I don't like heavy bags either.

I don't have a scale but it is as heavy as the Florentine Kingston...which is heavy to me as well. I have considered trading Kingston in but it is too pretty.

I have a feeling QVC is sending out customer returns of this bag as new rather than 'as is'. A friend ordered one that popped up as in stock after being sold out. Went to see it. She received it with very little stuffing in center compartment, no plastic on handles, etc. The leather is a bit streaky too. I think this is a customer return that QVC isn't going to mark down and keep sending out until someone keeps it. Sad.

That's a shame. Sorry about that. Others have reported receiving bags like this too. Sometimes as is bags come almost fully wrapped. It's hard to figure out QVC's process with returns.

I do believe they are doing that. I sent back a Shelby Shopper after being wait listed that was still wrapped, partially stuffed but the accessories were torn open. The bag was in good condition but the Dooney Logo had letters that were crooked. Not cool in my book. I guess wait list means you wait for someone to return? Whatever... It is back with the Q and in another home by now.

Would you pick elephant of chestnut in this bag? I'm strongly considering pre-ordering this during the Black Friday sale. Is the elephant too close to grey python?

I love the Barlow - it's on my list of much haves! In my opinion, I would go with the chestnut. I can only assume that it's beautiful. The elephant is like a stone color so closer to the grey hues. Good luck!!!!

I ordered a bag from them recently that wasn't "as is" but you could tell someone had it. Poorly packed, missing the 3rd part of the shoulder strap and was in the wrong size dust bag. I wasn't impressed and shipped it right back. They gave me a $30 credit for the partially missing strap but it ended up going back anyway.
