i havent seen these colours in this size when i went.

I hope you guys dont mind, I want to ask for an opinion.
I want to get my first Dior bag.
I am small, 151cm. The Lady Dior Cruise 2017 small bag looks perfect one me, but I am just wondering for my first bag should I get the standard Lady Dior? The price difference in Australia (Melbourne) is $5000 small and $5700 standard. The standard size looks fine on me too, but just as the first piece and little price difference, which one should I get?

I'd say go for the small one as when I was in the boutique last week I got the impression that it's a seasonal size. You can always add the medium to your collection at a later time.

i dont think the small size is a seasonal size
for me i prefer to have a zip which is only available on medium.
i dont feel secure with a flap
It's possible that the SA was mistaken, but I asked her if the small was seasonal and she said "yes." (Not the mini, that one seems to be permanent.)
I have the mini and, although I do like the flap, the bag is just too tiny to be practical as anything but an evening bag. I really liked the new small with the flap, but ultimately decided to buy a black medium with SHW. I agree about the security of the zipper (although the flap is quite secure as it tucks in deeply), and the medium just looks so beautiful and classic!
Are you able to go into the boutique to have a look at the sizes to see which you prefer? I think both sizes would work for you, but it would depend on whether you prefer a larger bag (the Medium) or a smaller day bag (My Lady Dior, the Small)
The New Small also has the added option of badges on the strap which helps to personalize it. While it is true that the Standard size is larger and has a zip, I have found that the zip was actually a hinderance when accessing the bag since the opening is restricted by it. Security is about being aware of your surroundings and personal belongings regardless of whether you are carrying an open tote or a zipped purse. My vote goes with the New Small as I too believe that it is a seasonal bag.

Anyway, I have a few more months to make up my mind before my trip so hopefully I can decide by then.

Small: Love the flap, love the strap but its only $700 cheaper than the medium, the money worth is a big issue for me in this case. Because its not like I can spend 5k whenever I feel like.
Medium: I never looked at Dior because of the zip but yes, theres the security issue with flap. Its only $700 more and its a classic, and it will forever be a classic until im old, another forum member said that Medium suits her more because she is over 30 so theres the suitability factor. Also, I think as the first bag, always go for the classic. Like get a 2.55 Chanel instead of a Boy as the first bag.

can i point out also about the small, in case anyone is gonna try to buy before seeing, when i tried it on crossbody, because the strap was so thick it wasnt sitting straight on my shoulder because it was totally rigid because of the thickness of the strap and it was so painful because the edge of the strap was pushing into the soft bit between the neck bones and shoulder bones. it was like 2 weeks ago i tried it and i still remember the pain.
i think the thinner strap is better because it is not so rigid and not so thick so when you wear it the side of the strap doesnt jam into your shoulder because it has nowhere else to go.

Thanks for sharing! I didn't know the straps on these was adjustable, unlike on the My Lady Dior (the ones that can be customized with pins).
I saw this gorgeous lady dior on instagram... Omg... I'm fainting from its beauty.... Is it in the new size small or is it a medium?
