I saw them, they are actually fabulous in my opinion, a statement piece, each aign has a different unique stoneHonestly…..the more I look at the big ones, the more I like them. The designs are very unique. The price is kind of crazy, but it think it’s an option. Im sure, like anything else VCA, it needs to be seen in person.
Wow, that is a disappointment. I still think the design needs to be there on par with the quality though.I ordered the Roberto Coin pendant - the one with the zodiac sign in diamonds. The medallion did not feel heavy enough to be solid gold- I think it’s hollow in the middle. I promptly returned it- the craftsmanship was nowhere near on par with VCA’s solid gold pendant.
I have nowhere near the budget to consider the $21k VCA pendant and other alternatives lol. But I suspect the Roberto Coin lapis pendant would also be hollow inside.
BeautifulI just got my Saks jewelry magazine in the mail and there seems to be an abundance of Zodiac options out there in the jewelry world. Frankly I was more impressed with other brands’ versions of this than VCA’s, and the price point is better too. In the second pic, the Roberto Coin pendant is $8050 USD for gold, lapis, and diamonds. Not sure why VCA thinks theirs is worth in the 20k range.
Wow! Thanks for the info, it's great to know in case someone wants to compare the two in weight and qualityI ordered the Roberto Coin pendant - the one with the zodiac sign in diamonds. Wow! Thank you for pointing me in the direction of David Yurman pendants! They are indeed pretty. Will go check them in the store tomorrow.Okay, hear me out, I too think that 21k is crazy for semi-precious stones. But in many ways, to me, what you've said above actually helps justify the VCA price. Their medallion is a lot bigger- maybe 3 times as much lapis used - it's a pretty big chunk. So I'm think 3 × 8K= 21k...and I'd be expecting VCA to be a lot more expensive than the equivalent from Roberto Coin anyway....so to me....I'm wondering why is the RC one relatively expensive in comparison to VCA where they used more stone.....or course I say this without seeing either one in person, so I can't comment on quality or workmanship...and of course the RC ones have more gold and diamonds.
The David Yurman ones are very pretty.
Love this layering! Which necklace did you pair with the zodiac pendant (the pendants are sold individually without a chain, right)?I... like most, love the Alhambra pieces, and I really like wearing a large pendant on a chain with a T shirt and jeans....I am an Aries and liked the solid gold one (the other is a tad (yikes) overpriced in my opinion and I can't justify getting it lol) so I got the solid gold. I am very happy I got it (I was a little hesitant and was not sure how I was going to blend it) and I really like the way it looks with my large Alhambra pieces. The chain length and size works if pairing with some of Van Cleef's fun pieces like the large Alhambra etc...View attachment 5241877
Would you mind sharing the chain comparison? Is the new 70cm chain thicker than the chain with the Alhambra single motif necklace you are wearing?
