I don't think that's really anyone's business how much OP spends. ;)

OP - I'm sorry you were banned...but if you're purchasing a lot and most of it is getting damaged, they're probably doing it to save themselves money. Maybe you could contact UPS and complain that all of your packages are getting damaged. They should definitely look into that. Honestly, if that happens again, I wouldn't even accept the package!

I did not mean to offend the OP or anyone and if it came off that way, I am sorry. I guess I just find it so foreign because in my world, 3k is always spent is such un-fun ways like a hot water tank or a furnace or some other boring necessity of life. At least washers and dryers are soooo colorful now though! Sorry really.

OP I don't think we have enough info. Are the products damaged or just the outer box? Are you only missing samples in your orders because they say they can make substitutes etc. Are you requesting replacement orders and not returning your items every time you get a damaged package? If so, this is why you were banned. Many companies ban customers all the time for too many returns etc.

I think though that if the box arrived damaged (with a hole the size of a palm!) it is the post office who should be handling this case and not Sephora (since the company would obviously not send something out that is so obviously damaged!).

Did you sign over for this package? As someone mentioned, if you noticed some significant outer damage right off the bat, you should have refused to accept the package. If Sephora gave you a full refund for that box, they were pretty generous IMO If it had been a private seller or a smaller company they probably would have just told you to take it up with the post office.

It sounds to me like there is more to this story. If a site is banning you from online shopping, then there must have been other issues or something that has identified you as problematic. Also, when a package is damaged in shipping, it is the shippers fault, not the sender - so Sephora is not to blame.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience, OP, but I've had nothing but exceptional customer service experience with them and will continue to shop there.

LOL....I can't imagine how one could spend that kind of $ in that time at Sephora either
I've had nothing but excellent CS from them....but I buy at the BNM store

Seriously? I'm more shocked about this than Sephora Steve banning you!

I can understand what you are saying! I wonder what the OP bought.. out of pure nosiness. lol.

Sorry to hear about this, OP.

I couldn't help but wonder if someone may be vandalizing your packages before they reach you. Does the mail person place your packages in your own mail box, or are you receiving packages from the concierge/reception desk in your building? Are other non-Sephora packages being vandalized/damaged as well?

I think like someone else mentioned, the company is taking precautions based on their experience with you. It definitely does not seem fair, but I doubt there is anything personal about it.

Hopefully, this situation can be resolved in your favor so you can get back to your online shopping. Or maybe this may be a blessing in disguise? Less traction on your wallet :smile1:

That's what I'm wondering. If this is happening on a consistent basis then I think maybe a carrier or even neighbor is at fault. If I order samples from Sephora and they don't have them I usually get a replacement. Anyways, I don't know it just seems like there is more to the story. Maybe excessive returns? I can understand a damaged order or missing product happens. But almost every order for a few months is a little extreme.

I've never had a problem with Sephora and I've done many returns w/ o receipts just because I'm so used to buying from stores that place stickers or can look up your credit card info. I rarely need to keep them.

I wish sephora would start the stickers like Nordstrom / bloomingdales etc.

I've had issues with fingered items, or spilled powder and they said toss and sent me a new one or do an exchange in store. Granted the order was nowhere near 3k, and only 2 items were damaged or used. 100 or less and it was twice in how long they have been open ?

Maybe they suspect theft or reselling. ?? I think we need more info ..

I shop A LOT at Sephora... some in-store, but more recently I have been buying more online because its tough to browse with two toddlers. I've never received a damaged package from them in years of shopping with them and vary rarely have to return anything for issues other than I changed my mind on the product/didn't work for me, etc. It sounds like there is a serious issue somewhere in your delivery chain (UPS facility, driver, mail office, something...) and they are trying to cut their losses.

Honestly, I don't think it really matters how much you've spent there within any amount of time if you're tried to return or get replaced a large percentage of the items within a short period of time... it just doesn't appear on the up & up (not necessarily from you - could be your delivery chain like others have mentioned), especially if is all being done over computer/phone. I would give them the benefit of the doubt. As a random example... If you'd bought $3k in products but had to claim over $2500 in damaged items and/or returns... that appears to be an abnormal situation/customer (so to speak, as an expression) and a lot more of a headache to deal with on their end... than someone that "just" walks in and spends $500 at one time without any returns, exchanges, or damaged items on their BI account... So long story short, it doesn't matter what amount you spend, if the majority of your business with them is actually negative in some manner.

Good luck sorting it out though! Hope you can find out what is going on with your UPS deliveries!

I have to agree with the others here. The problem may be during the delivery. I used to order magazines and they usually arrive with package opened and I discovered my postal worker was reading them - he's no longer my postal worker thank goodness. I can't go around blaming the magazine company for something that's not their fault.

This!
While it is awful for the OP, Sephora is not obligated to sell/ship to problematic buyers.

This is what I'm thinking as well.... I've had amazing experiences at Sephora and they are very good at making things right for the customer.

I agreed too. That you shouldn't blame on sephora . I were always had good experience , they have to watch people 's return history because their generous return and exchange policy some people are actually abusing the good policy. I were never had any problems . I didn't receive my ff code they agreed to let me place an order over phone with 20% off. One of the ordered duplicated , and they said I can keep the samples and Just return the merchandise . So overall I still love sephora !!!

Oh gosh, this is exactly what is happening with my magazine too. I collect this mag, so it's upsetting when my mag would arrive days late with dried coffee stains on the cover. Then I started missing issues. This is the second issue I've missed in a row. I never had a problem before this, and it's so annoying.

The first thing that came to my mind was that the postoffice was at fault or the van guy is taking his aggressions out on his deliveries.

The UPS van guy simply hates me. Every time I have to sign for a package, he has a murderous look on his face that he has to drop off yet another delivery on my porch... I have actually postponed some orders so I don't have to deal with him!

I can understand forgetting a couple of samples, not why I order anyways and not worth anything. I would be upset tho, if the damage on the box went all the way in and dented, cracked, or broken any of the cosmetics within...

but some people like my dh will go berserk if there is the slightest ding on the outside wrapper...:p

^^
if so UPS guy hates you, how about a little holidays bribe/tip?
It works wonder in my neck of the wood.....

Oh yes, I've been tipping him all these years but nothing helps. Even if my dh and I are both at the door, he'll just ignore me. It's really obvious. It is uncomfortable enough I have to slink back inside. There's no problem when he just leaves packages on the porch, but when he needs the signature confirmation... :shrugs:

I noticed this week there is another fellow in the van with him, so I guess he is getting some help and some company for the day. Maybe I should put in all my orders needing signature this month! :p
