No, they usually refund all your money on your credit card unless you use only gift card. If you use a gift card only, they will issue a new gift card.

would you be able to use a gift card you received from a gift card event towards the total amount for another gift card event?
for example the event said use $2000 to get $600. and i used a $500 gift card. and $1400 my own money. would i still qualify for the $2000 or only qualify for $1400??

I believe you will get a gift card for the amout that you spend..
so it would be $1400
This is my first time doing the GC event so I'm a bit nervous after reading the horror stories here. 
Question - to double up the GC, it says I need to pick a qualifying apparel AND handbags or shoes. Does it matter if 99% of the amount is just for the handbag/shoes and I pick up like a $20 qualifying apparel just so I can double the GC?

Yes. I have done it. They look at the total purchase so if you had a total of 2000.00 and used a 600.00 gift card and 1400.00 your own money, it would still count asa 2000.00 purchase.
yes, that's my understanding. they're the same company. i use my bergdorf cc at neiman's all the time... though i prefer bergdorf because there's no tax if you live outside ny
We dont have the store in Texas, but They have the warehouse so we got charged for tax

I participated in the last gift card promotion via online ordering. I received my electronic gift card via email on June 1.
Call them and settle it on t he phone. They are notoriously slow in getting these cards out.
