i am not a very traditional person so i don't really care what people would think, if i was married or not, or wearing my ring like i am "supposed" to.

i guess the best part about it is that i can wear it anyway i want! since they're not soldered together, i can wear them together if the mood strikes me, or separately if it does! all in all, i love my new wedding band, much better than the smaller asscher cut eternity one in the 1st pic....

designer_love, i don't think there is ONE WAY you're "SUPPOSED TO" wear your e-ring and wedding band. i think it's actually a very north american thing to have big diamond e-rings worn with diamond wedding bands... other countries don't wear their e-rings (or may not even be customary to have one), and have simpler platinum or gold wedding bands. and lots of people don't wear their erings later on in life, just their wedding band.

thats a new one to me, guess thats why i've never heard of that before i live in the usa and everyone i've ever seen has always had them paired together, at least around where i live anyway... i guess if your country does it different than i guess as long as your happy that way than ok, just assumed you was from the usa....

you are and you still wear them on different fingers....wow. What hand do you wear your wedding band on? If you dont wear it on the left hand how does anyone know your married unless they ask? idk call me crazy but the band on the left hand ring finger is what tells people you are married...i guess everyone does everything different but idk i come from a small town so i dont understand this new way of doing the ring thing, i always thought everything had to be wore together and on the left hand and the wedding band on your finger before the engagement ring so the wedding band is closer to the heart...guess i was raised way too country.

well everyone is very different in NYC, as there are so many different cultures here.

a lot of the jewish people (from the russian church) wear the wedding band on the right finger. i've noticed some other european people also wear it on the right hand (not sure what religion they are).

and as for wearing the e-ring and wedding band on separate fingers, there are women here with HONKING big ass e-rings (5 ct+) that wearing a wedding band (other than maybe a simple metal band) would be almost impossible...

a lot of the fine jewelers here (leon mege for example - www.artofplatinum.com) actually frown on wearing the wedding band and e-ring together... according to him, his masterpiece (the e-ring usually) should stand alone in all its glory without being detracted by anything else.

well, i'm glad you're able to learn something different from this! :flowers:

haha. and then there's my aunt—who is jewish and lives in nyc—who wears her honking 7 ct. princess cut e-ring (with 2 ct. trillion cut stones on the side—EACH) WITH her 3 or 4 eternity bands, all on the same finger. it's quite a view, believe me. it's like she's wearing an ice cube on her finger, but it's gorgeous. only she can pull it off. me, living here in colorado, i would look completely ridiculous—as ridiculous as one can look wearing some gorgeous jewelry. lol

I just adore this look! It's so unexpected, but totally works, and I don't think this band detracts from your e-ring at all, since they are completely different shapes and cuts. It's a unique look that you don't see every day and I love that. Both rings are just gorgeous btw!

I agree!!:nuts::nuts:: What a beautiful look. After seeing you play with your rings, I was inspired to play with mine. I don't have an e-ring (not a necessity where I live), but I bought myself a 5,3 carat antique ring. I normally wear it with my wedding band (simple band, square, bit broad, with 14 diamonds). But today I wore my diamond ring (round cut) with my 5-diamond ring. Not as pretty as yours! Your emerald and 5 diamond ring are the best! :yahoo:

I prefer to wear my wedding ring on my right hand and my e-ring on my left hand. For me, it feels better to have them separate and I think it looks better. I also don't want the metal from my wedding band rubbing on the pave of my e-ring.

There's no set way to wear your rings. I think it's all personal preference.

i do see older women like that in NYC... for some reason they can pull it off....

Monica! thank you for sharing your pics! your solitaire and wedding band look gorgeous together!

CDNinNYC, thank you for sharing your lovely photos! i  your ering, and i love the way they look together AND separate! you're right, there's no one way to wear anything, just a matter of personal preference!

Haha! I just saw this! Leon did both my e-ring and wedding band. He does like his rings to be worn separately!

Carlinha, your step-cut is gorgeous! Emerald cut diamonds were my first love. Looking at your ring makes me wonder why I went with another shape. :p

You're lucky the 5-stone ring looks great with your e-ring but is substantial enough to look fabulous on it own. You can rock both looks as the mood strikes you.

Not married, but I would wear my rings together. As long as they look good, are comfortable, and are both made of the same metal so that one doesn't rub away at the other, my future rings will be worn on the same finger.

I would only wear my rings separately if, for example, one was made of platinum and the other something else, like white gold. I definitely wouldn't want them rubbing against each other, since the stronger metal can wear the other one down. Besides, I personally don't like having anything on my right hand or wrist, so my future husband WILL have to get me rings I can wear on the same finger!:D
