Hello there, i'm new here. Just wanna know as some of you who went to Dr Chia, did she say her stitching method is more lasting? Cos I asked the staff from Dr Andrew Tay, was told it could last around 3 - 5 years only, depending on individual.
And the appointment from Dr Andrew Tay is a long wait. The actual day for procedure could be in Sep / Oct.
It seems Dr Chia has earlier slots for the procedure. But i'm a little concerned as I saw a google review with an image posted, the stitches came off and it looks like a hole or sumthin and the clinic does not response to that particular review.
Also, i'm kind of surprised Dr Andrew Tay currently have only like 5-6 reviews considering that many are going to him.
I'm stuck and I duno if I should go to Dr Andrew Tay or Dr Chia. Any thoughts are welcome!🙏

I’m starting this thread to jot my suture double eyelid surgery experience, inspo by other plastic surgery threads in this forum. I have monolids which gives me a sleepy look and I have always wanted to do SUB suture upper blepharoplasty but been delaying for a few years and only set my mind to do it this year. The type of fold I want is the parallel type with just a little flare. Because my eyes are quite slitty and I want to make them look wider and longer. Here are some photos of Song Hyekyo and Go Ara’s eyes which I so like!

Been googling for ages, but a lot of sites seem like paid sites: those Best in Singapore and top clinics for eyelid surgery, doctorxdentist, beautyinsider etc etc. I mean anyone ever thought WHO decides that they are the best? Besides I have been following these websites for a while and once a new plastic surgeon comes on board, it will get featured as top on the list. Doesn’t make sense IMO. I would say the best way is to see the doctor‘s actual patients and results. A few of my friends had SUB done but I find them a bit stiff and unnatural so I know I’m defo not going to those clinics.

I made a list of 3 plastic surgeons I would go see based on their online reviews and photos, like Google reviews, RealSelf, Singapore motherhood etc. I did ref some local blogs on double eyelid surgeries too. Singapore clinics can’t show before and after photos, so it took me quite a while to shortlist.

Long story short, I went for 2 consults out for the 3 and I picked Dr Chia Hui Ling from SW 1 clinic. The other 2 doctors I shall not disclose. First clinic I went to, the doc was featured in blogs, He was well-mannered but I felt consult a bit rushed. I asked to see after photos and he showed me 3 photos and I noticed 2 out of 3 were the very tapered sort and although he reassured me that I can get the parallel with a little flare that I want (not the low Korean fold), I was not very convinced. Then went next to Dr Chia. She showed her photos of different types of folds, some were closer to what I want. She also explained that choosing double eyelid fold must also consider my eye shape, mine is fairly long, so it will suit the parallel with flair that I want. I asked her what is the most common fold she does and tapered is her most commonly requested according to her. After these 2 consults, I decided not to go for the last one who is my third choice anyways and I can save some money too.

Here is one of eyelids, yes one! lol, I cropped only one eye to protect my identity, should still be able to see my condition and close up enough to see the results.

Have to pay a 50% deposit to secure a date for surgery at SW 1 clinic. Their waiting time is around a month, so surgery will be early July. Clinic staff helpful and fast to respond. In addition, I also bought some arnica to help with swelling (Hyland’s from Watsons) and a cooling eye pad for swelling too. Scheduled my work such that I have no calls for 1 week after surgery. Dr Chia said that by a week, it will still be puffy but not very noticeable on zoom calls. A friend also recommended to take less salt to reduce eye swelling on the surgery day. Now it’s just about waiting till D day. Does anyone have any other tips on preparing for surgery?
Your eyes are absolutely beautiful! I’m shocked at how you barely had any swelling/bruising after the surgery. My healing was the complete opposite 😂

You seem to lean towards Dr Tay, you can consult there first and see how you feel. I went to check out their google review you mentioned 😰😰 the photos does seem like the incision kind though, not like the suture type that I had with Dr Chia. I guess no harm ask their clinic about this review too, it could be done by different doctor. Or can one PM the google reviewer?

Overall I am very happy with my results and so jumped on too to leave my experience here, hope to help others like me!!

To the ladies who've done the surgery with Dr Chia,

Would you say you're end result, the double eyelids are balance?
I'm quite scared of it being unbalance.

Do you know if she can correct them if they are uneven?

Thanks!

Hi guys, I have just done an incisional upper blepharoplasty and epicanthoplasty at Dr shens just 8 days ago. My eyes swelled pretty badly and now I’m so anxious as I can see that my eyes are asymmetrical 😭

Does anyone have such experiences?IMG_3174.jpeg

New here. However i just went to dr goh novena, he is definitely not for me . He has no opinions on what looks better on me and said to just give him a picture of what i want several times. i means yes i know what i want and i showed him. However he just said will look fake, and theres no further explanation . i was v lost and had to consult other doctors. Dr goh pricing is quite reasonable compared to the other dr that i went .
