Hey I was just wondering what is your opinion on Singapore PS scene? I want to get my nose fixed but very reluctant to get it done locally since I noticed almost all the clinics do not really offer much specialisation. My case is a bit specific since my nose was severely injured previously due to an accident I was involved in so I'm looking for a doctor I can trust. On their websites, most Singapore surgeons seems to do almost every body parts on top of face which make me feel like they are jack of all trades, master of none". Am I better off seeking overseas options?
I have a very good experience locally so I may be biased. For me, it's liking the doctor's results for eyes similar to mine during the consult. I consulted more than 1 doctor to give me more opinions. If you feel your issue is quite specialized you can consult clinic that has good reviews for doing nose jobs? I think clinics here may promote many ops but in fact is good at few ops if you can find good reviews online or by asking around. If no luck then probably overseas clinics specializing in nose, I think many will do zoom consult.

Anyway I went back for a check-up after my last reply to you and asked her. She uses what sounds like a weaving type stitching, along the entire fold; rather than few individual stitches, so it lasts a longer time.
Hi I'm not sure if your replying but I want to ask if there is no scar now? I am very worried about scar when you close your eyes or half open is the scar like very little noticeable or no scar at all? thank you :)

Hello! Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. I have also been thinking of DES in Singapore and am trying to shortlist some doctors for consultation. Do you mind PM-ing the other 2 doctors that you ended up not choosing? Thank you

Hi everyone im new here, just wanna share my suture eyelid surgery I did recently with Dr Chia Hui Ling from SW1 Clinic. Hope its helpful to whoever is keen to do the surgery with Dr Chia.

With the thought to correct the asymmetrical size of my eyes, was googling and so glad I came across this review. I did a suture double eyelid surgery 4-5 years ago, the doctor back then didn’t pointed out that my right eye was actually ptosis. Therefore, my eyes were still asymmetrical which makes me feel that the surgery I had was just a waste of time and money. Also my double eyelids ended up half hidden.

Consulted with Dr Chia in May, and she pointed out my right eye was ptosis when she first saw me. I was referred me to Dr Cheryl, an eye doctor to test confirmed that my right eye was ptosis.

Told Dr Chia due to my work, I can only do suture method as I cannot afford the downtime.

Did my surgery 5th July 2022. Dr Chia was very careful when measuring and drawing on my eyelids before the surgery. And during the surgery she make sure that im at my comfort level by checking with me time to time whether the injections were okay. I only took about 2-3 days off work and rest at home. And the swell came down faster than I expected, which was a relief to me as I still have to attend work meetings etc. I went back to work on the 4th day of my surgery.

And today is almost 3 months after my surgery. I am so happy with the result! I love how it is tapered all the way to the inner end like I want it. My eyelids are less tired and my eyes are now the same. It made me so emo to see them balance now. I used to feel so uneasy with my big-small eyes Really thankful to have decided on the surgery!!

The nurses in SW1 is also very friendly, they are more of a caring friend to me than a clinic nurse, they made me feel very comfortable. But they do still keep their professionalism by answering my queries before & after surgery.

Overall I am very happy with my results and so jumped on too to leave my experience here, hope to help others like me!!

Thanks @serenitysparks. I'm glad I found this thread coz Dr Chia doesn't advertise very much. I did incision double eyelid surgery and very happy with my results. I opted for tapered fold and had epicanthoplasty too. Had to wait a few weeks for the consult but surgery to recovery was smooth sailing. Doing this surgery really made a difference to me. I was scared about going for the surgery for a long time but your posts gave me confidence to go for it, so thank you!

I'm very happy I came across this thread. Good to see before and after pictures too. I'm currently deciding on whether to undergo DE surgery for my ptosis. I've already consulted with Dr Colin Tham and he already gave me my options on how the procedure can be done. I'm leaning on towards suture coz it may have a quicker recovery and less noticeable scars. Hoping to post my own pictures here too.

Hi ellwaibe,
I wonder if you have epicanthoplasty? Your eyes are beautiful now! Very symmetrical.

Hi Carong, sorry for the late reply.

I did do epicanthoplasty at my original surgery before I went to Dr Chia but as you can see it didn’t work . So when I went to Dr Chia, she did a suture double eyelid and ptosis surgery for me and at same time, she did revision epicanthoplasty. I’m happy my double eyelid is very visible now because of that too.

Hi, what was your experience like doing the incisional DES with Dr Chia? And how long were your eyes swollen?

I’m looking to do revision DES and it’s likely to be incisional this time since the sutures from before have loosened.

Thanks @serenitysparks for starting this thread. I was looking for surgeons to work on my eyes and discovered Dr Chia because of this thread! Hoping to schedule a consultation with her soon.

My pleasure! When I was doing my research, it was hard to find the right clinic with all the busy marketing so I’m glad I can help others with similar problem to me. How did your consultation with Dr Chia go?
