Nice!! How long does non incisional eyelids last? Did she tell you?
Thank you!! I'm very happy with the difference it made to brighten up my face. My doctor did mention with her surgery method it will last for many years, like 10 or so. I didnt know there are different methods and i guess not all are lasting type. I would think it depends on your eyelid condition too. When seeing your doctor, you should ask them to recommend which method suits your eyes better. I wanted to do non incisional but was telling myself to keep an open mind during my consultations to see what the doctors recommend.

I’m starting this thread to jot my suture double eyelid surgery experience, inspo by other plastic surgery threads in this forum. I have monolids which gives me a sleepy look and I have always wanted to do SUB suture upper blepharoplasty but been delaying for a few years and only set my mind to do it this year. The type of fold I want is the parallel type with just a little flare. Because my eyes are quite slitty and I want to make them look wider and longer. Here are some photos of Song Hyekyo and Go Ara’s eyes which I so like!

Been googling for ages, but a lot of sites seem like paid sites: those Best in Singapore and top clinics for eyelid surgery, doctorxdentist, beautyinsider etc etc. I mean anyone ever thought WHO decides that they are the best? Besides I have been following these websites for a while and once a new plastic surgeon comes on board, it will get featured as top on the list. Doesn’t make sense IMO. I would say the best way is to see the doctor‘s actual patients and results. A few of my friends had SUB done but I find them a bit stiff and unnatural so I know I’m defo not going to those clinics.

I made a list of 3 plastic surgeons I would go see based on their online reviews and photos, like Google reviews, RealSelf, Singapore motherhood etc. I did ref some local blogs on double eyelid surgeries too. Singapore clinics can’t show before and after photos, so it took me quite a while to shortlist.

Long story short, I went for 2 consults out for the 3 and I picked Dr Chia Hui Ling from SW 1 clinic. The other 2 doctors I shall not disclose. First clinic I went to, the doc was featured in blogs, He was well-mannered but I felt consult a bit rushed. I asked to see after photos and he showed me 3 photos and I noticed 2 out of 3 were the very tapered sort and although he reassured me that I can get the parallel with a little flare that I want (not the low Korean fold), I was not very convinced. Then went next to Dr Chia. She showed her photos of different types of folds, some were closer to what I want. She also explained that choosing double eyelid fold must also consider my eye shape, mine is fairly long, so it will suit the parallel with flair that I want. I asked her what is the most common fold she does and tapered is her most commonly requested according to her. After these 2 consults, I decided not to go for the last one who is my third choice anyways and I can save some money too.

Here is one of eyelids, yes one! lol, I cropped only one eye to protect my identity, should still be able to see my condition and close up enough to see the results.

Have to pay a 50% deposit to secure a date for surgery at SW 1 clinic. Their waiting time is around a month, so surgery will be early July. Clinic staff helpful and fast to respond. In addition, I also bought some arnica to help with swelling (Hyland’s from Watsons) and a cooling eye pad for swelling too. Scheduled my work such that I have no calls for 1 week after surgery. Dr Chia said that by a week, it will still be puffy but not very noticeable on zoom calls. A friend also recommended to take less salt to reduce eye swelling on the surgery day. Now it’s just about waiting till D day. Does anyone have any other tips on preparing for surgery?
Hi dear, able to pm me which is the other surgeons you consulted?

Posting my before and after photos

I love your results babe!!! I'm planning to do DES this coming May!! but my baseline eyes not as good as yours haahah. Mine are a bit droopy and also fatty so it's puffy. I think even if I want to do non-incisional also cannot... I know you opted for non-incisional method but may I know if SW1 shared the prices with you for the incisional method or even epicanthoplasty? I shortlisted to SW1 clinic and Dr Andrew Tay but have not decided which to go with yet.

Thank you!!! I’m so glad I did it. All the best for your surgery. I paid 3000+ all in. Incisional I think it’s 4000+. Not sure about epicantoplasty. You can WA the clinic, her assistants are responsive. Hope this helps!

Happy for you! Thank you for sharing :) May I also check how long did you wait for your consultation? Heard the waitlist can be quite long like 1-2 months...

@oolongmilktea Hey, how did your DES go?

Looks great!
Thanks! Been a year now and still very happy with my decision. A few of my friends went on to have DES too after seeing my results, including my aunt but she needed a ptosis operation because she has drooping eyelids. It's funny that quite a few times my friends didn't recognise me by just looking at my eyes with my mask on and I had to pull my mask down to say "it's me"

Wow! I’m planning to DES done with a parallel crease too. I noticed you didn’t get an epicanthoplasty, I’d like to avoid getting an epicanthoplasty as well because I’m a little scared of doing anything too invasive right now.

Yeah I didn't get epicantoplasty. I did worry that I wouldn't be able to get parallel folds without this so I'm super glad it turned out ok.

Hey I was just wondering what is your opinion on Singapore PS scene? I want to get my nose fixed but very reluctant to get it done locally since I noticed almost all the clinics do not really offer much specialisation. My case is a bit specific since my nose was severely injured previously due to an accident I was involved in so I'm looking for a doctor I can trust. On their websites, most Singapore surgeons seems to do almost every body parts on top of face which make me feel like they are jack of all trades, master of none". Am I better off seeking overseas options?
