My negative Cartier experience today

I did it!!!!! The lovely manager of the Boca Raton store said that shipping cost is $25 for 2-day. She said she would waive it but not provide complimentary overnight shipping. That is fine - I don't need overnight. So in the end, I got 5% off, 1st free service and 12 months zero interest. The warranty is 3 years. I'm finally excited!

Is this a special "deal" becuase of the way you were treated or is this what should have been originally offered? Also, are all purchases on the Red Card 12 month no interest or is that a special promotion? If so, is it still going on? Do you jsut sign up for the red card in the Cartier store?

Also, does anyone know if Saks and NM are offering any MPA on fine jewelry and watched now?

Thanks!

Saks had a special MPA event that I think ended Dec.18. But 1 SA told me that it was until Christmas. The Saks event was 12 months zero interest for an item over $2000. I don't know anything about NM. Cartier has a new lender for their house charge. You must apply in person. The deal is also 12 months zero interest. I'm not sure what the minimum cost of the item must be. They use to have 3 brackets, 90 days zero interest, 6 months zero interest and 12 months zero interest - all depends on how much the item costs. My only special deal was a free service on the watch.

Hokaplan, from reading this thread, I think you had the negative experience with the Cartier boutique in KoP. I've only been there once and the guy who helped me was agreeable. I plan on buying a diamond ering there soon and trying to see how I can save on cost. Do you know if this boutique gives discounts on erings and whether I can sign up for the Red Card there and if so, what discount that would provide me? I am already thinking of sending the ring to my friend in RI to save on the 6% tax. Any tips that you have would be great :)

I missed this thread the first time around. I feel like that just was a nasty SA, there are always some bad apples but that really stinks. I bought my Love bracelet from the Boca Raton boutique and they were extremely helpful and the CS was great.

I think she was mad cause I went behind her back. But it was my money I was spending and I was simply trying to get the offer as promised from the beginning. Now I'm afraid to return to that store for any polishings or service. I purchased my YG cuff from Dadeland and had excellent service.

Bumping this thread for a couple reasons: 1) does Cartier still do discounts bc this is the first I'd heard of it outside AD and 2) I had a negative experience as well recently. I visited a boutique nearby recently for the first time. When I was in the store all the sa's were helping customers. When it came to be my turn a couple (woman and man) after me said they were next. I politely informed them I was actually (and in fact they saw me standing in the store when they first walked in!) The woman said no we were actually next (big fat lie - wow).

The SA then (and I'm absolutely serious) looked me up and down and then told me that the couple was next.

Let me say this: I have never had this ever happen to me in a store and it was not the first time I had ever visited a Cartier boutique. I was also not dressed like a slob. I was wearing a high end designer coat and bag and clean, presentable pants and shoes. Another client standing nearby who must have known that I was actually next just shook her head. I am not one to make a scene nor am I one to stay when I'm treated so poorly so I left.

Given what happened I'm certain there are just two reasons why this sa decided to do this (and I felt humiliated because it was in front of several other customers) - one possibly being that she would more likely get a commission from a couple who walked in versus a woman who walked in alone. I have heard for example at a certain high end boutique you're more likely to get a coveted item if you walk in with your SO rather than by yourself.

Have any of you experienced something like this? I am so steamed. I had recently made a purchase at Cartier and was looking to buy something else and now whenever I look down at my love it just remind me of that bad experience. Perhaps that feeling will dissipate over time as what happened was recent and the feelings are still raw. And I believe I do have a right to be upset at Cartier because when I yelped and googled this store I saw others complain similar experiences!!

I think you should post your complaint on Yelp as well because sometimes it does help it and it will warn other potential customers. I wouldn't go back. I'd make my future purchases from a different store.
