This just get's me soooo much closer to where I'm heading, which is to my closet to photograph my Coach bags...TO SELL!!!

I'm teatering on the edge with them...I'll start my own thread though and won't "hijack" yours!

Best of luck!!! I'd really LOVE for them to provide an email address where you can email pic's of your PERSONAL collection!!!

I return alot, always with receipt BUT does this mean because I change my mind or some new great 'delete" hits the outlet that I want more that I may be next???

I probably won't find out, I think I truly bought my last Coach bag today!!!

I would like to see limits adhered to no matter what the end use is. I think it's just wrong when one or two people buy up the bulk of something that's on sale.

Agreed. My mother was at Woodbury when the brown heritage stripe totes hit the stores. A man picked up the three that were on the floor and had a SA check the back for more. She came back saying there were seven more and he asked her for all seven! My mother stayed long enough to see the SA turn around and go into the back.

But, I find it disgusting when you see the same people, or group of people, pick up the entire floor quantity of bags and/or wallets. I know that there are people out there that will purchase many of the same items for bridesmaids, etc, but it's all very suspicious in my mind.

I know, ITA w/you... I can't believe Coach sends out these letters... I have returned items plenty of times w/my receipt because I have changed my mind, I don't think there is anything wrong w/that.. I also don't think its a crime to buy more than 3 of something.. that is just ridiculous to even hear of such a thing! Who knew there was a limit? I know I sure haven't and have bought Coach for quite sometime! If they have the product, who cares if they sell 5 items to one person compared to 5 different ppl? They are still making their money, right?... If I received one of these letters I would be :censor: off! I'd definitely try to get more answers about this letter and how it came abouts to you getting it... I mean if its true that an SA can control on who can/can't buy coach by putting in their two cents, then the customers should have a say in who can/can't work at the coach store because there are PLENTY of SA's at the coach store I go to that I think shouldn't be working there... I think it should work both ways... anyone else agree?

I think the problem with limits is that it is up to the individual store sometimes the individual sa's to enforce the rule. But when you have sa's turning a blind eye to some and not others that is where the problem is. I understand that we all have to adhere to rules--but the only fair way for this to happen is when it applies to everybody. Some sa's love to see resellers like someone else posted. Coach knows that when they send a $700 bag to the outlet and sell it for half the price that they are taking a chance that someone is going to resell it. I think they want their cake and ice cream too............. On one hand they like the big sales because it helps the company and on the other hand they don't want resellers. Give me a break. But, if you will read my original thread this wasn't even purses--this was $9.99 keychains and $17.99 cosmetic cases. Oh wait am I wanting special treatment???? LOL

In my defense for the glove purchase, there was a huge table of the gloves out on the sales floor, with at least a good 150 - 200 pairs of gloves piled onto it. Therefore, I wasn't hogging up or depleting the store's inventory of gloves. Also, there were more of the gloves kept in the back/stock room because the SAs kept bringing more of them out if someone couldn't find a pair out on the table of a particular style or color that they wanted. I ended up purchasing three different styles of the gloves in different sizes and colors, with only one add'l pair exceeding the quantity limit.

I get the whole point of buying 10 items of the same thing and Coach getting suspicious about it, especially if you are a reoccuring customer who they possibly know that buys to resell, but seriously, does it really happen all the time? IDK, just the whole thing is ridiculous really... LOL

Maybe they should rework the limit policy so that it can be reasonably enforced at all stores. Any policy that is so inconsistently enforced is not a good one to begin with. I had some ideas running through my head, not that they would listen to my suggestion but just for fun I was trying to come up with a policy that would please most.

I figure items that are hot sellers or are only available in very limited quantities could have a limit, just like many other stores do for sales. They definitely know which items have sold well at the boutique and can therefore reasonably predict how they will sell at an outlet. Stock is also an issue. The limit would be displayed on some sort of sign and enforced at the register. Plenty of stores have limits on sales and really that's what the outlet is. I don't think many people would object to that.

Factory items or even boutique transfers that are available in large quantities could be excluded from that rule. Items that are available in larger quantities and factory items are generally less desirable for resale anyway. That way if you wanted to get ponytail scarves for all of your bridesmaids or mini skinnies for your friends, you could still have some options without running away with half of the store.

Don't get me wrong, I know that when you buy something its yours to do whatever you want with it. Its just upsetting when you're trying to find that special bag and you get there 2 minutes after the store opens only to see some woman walking around with their entire stock of that exact bag.

Edit: My point with the policy change is that I think SAs make exceptions for people because there isn't really any alternative. If it was clearly stated around the store and there were other options for gifts, I think it would be easier to enforce.

Whether they changed to that sort of strategy or not, something really should change. If a SA tells you that something is ok, it should be ok. You shouldn't be getting letters 2 weeks later telling you that you did something wrong when they allowed it in the first place. The whole "oh, we sold you too many items so now you're banned" thing is ridiculous. If anything, the SAs that allow those transactions should be the ones getting letters about their misconduct, not you.

I have seen people with the COACH In-Store tote bags filled to the top with COACH items. They shop with multiple people, even guys, and they ALL have the In-Store tote bag filled up! Whenever I see this, I immediately think that they are *Bay sellers. I've yet to notice any of them have a problem at check-out! The other day I noticed an *Bay seller with atleast "6" Ellie Satchels listed, and they're still out there! Maybe they didn't purchase all of them on the same day, but COACH as access to the buyers name and perhaps they could work with eBay to identify some of these suspected re-sellers. Instead, they are quick to send these blanket letters without having done a full & fair investigation.

I fully agree! I've been trying my best to find at outlet ONE SINGLE ELLIE and you have at least SIX Ellie Satchels on ebay RIGHT NOW from one seller...and who knows how many more she has at home just waiting to list! I asked the mgr why Coach doesn't check ebay for the re-sellers. She said there's too many to go through. Well...Coach could just ask a few of us and we could point out the re-sellers!!! These blanket letters to customers is getting out of hand. My point in another post was, mgr said 3 identical items at one time...but, your point is well taken...they come in and bring their "friends and family"...AND, nothing is in PRINT regarding the "3 identical" amount. I'm ticked off about this letter to her, her husband, and her daughter! And to not even give her a chance to speak with someone is unreal. Knowing myself, if I got a letter like that I would be returning what was still tagged and going to another line! I love my outlet and all the SAs and feel very fortunate about that. But Coach corporate needs to put their rules in black and white so we all know what to expect.

I had avoided reading this thread because it infuriates me how Coach is treating some of its most loyal customers :cursing: OP, I'm so sorry this happened and I hope things turn out. BTW, great collection and thanks for sharing

If you were to buy what you wanted, just pay cash and don't give any personal info, problem solved! Know one can figure out Coach's quircky illogical ever-changing rules !

what really concerns me is consistency. I see the same things at my outlet, people dropping several grand on multiples. I can understand buying accessories for gifts, the bigger problem is people buying the same bag in the same color in multiples. I understand setting a limit, but they should stick to their guns in the store so these things don't need to happen.

after reading pages and pages I was thinking, How can we ( the soul of COACH business) bring our point across to Corporate?? Petition about their BS policies and mis-managed stored.... ???
